"Hi my name is Karen and I have worked as a full time carer for the last 14 years. I enjoy working with the elderly, as I feel one can learn so much from their stories and life experiences. I am hardworking, kind and professional, and a good all rounder. I have worked with mainly with elderly clients with Dementia, MS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Spinal Injuries, Stroke, Depression and I am very happy to learn new skills if required to care for a new clients with conditions that are new to me. I prefer Live in, I do everything related to care, personal care, cooking, light housekeeping and some gardening. I love animals, it will be a pleasure to take clients dog/s for a walk if need be. I enjoy outings with my clients and work well with family, doctors, nurses and other care staff. I enjoy nature, gardening , walking and cooking. I also enjoy crafts. I started a knitting group that ran for a year. All the items knitted were donated to a charity in Lesotho for underprivileged children and some to old age homes in the UK. Enjoy crochet, not an expert. When starting with a new client I prefer to have a 1/2 week settling in period where I can get to know my clients conditions. After this period I can discuss with client/family members to determine the length of period of care I can deliver. I am happy to travel within a distance of 150 miles from my base in Walton-On-Thames, as long as my travelling expenses are covered one way by my future clients. I am an experienced driver of manual and automatic and I can drive clients cars if required as long as I am covered under their car insurance policy. Thank you for taking the time in reading my profile and if you would like any further information I am happy to arrange a Curam meet video call. Please keep in touch if you think I could help you."
