Curam assigns temporary phone numbers so clients and carers can communicate while keeping their personal contact details private — no real numbers shared, ever.

Why we use temporary phone numbers

At Curam, privacy is a priority. Temporary phone numbers are assigned as a proactive measure to protect your personal contact information. While no system is perfect, this step helps maintain your privacy and supports safe, trusted interactions within our community.

How temporary phone numbers work

1
A client requests a temporary phone number to connect with a carer — this can be done at any time through the platform.
2
Curam assigns a temporary number to both parties. Once assigned, you can call each other as normal — it works just like a regular phone call.
3
The temporary number expires after 7 days. A new one can be generated at any time to keep the conversation going.
Up to 5 active numbers at once

Removing a carer's phone number

Up to five temporary numbers are supported at any one time. If you need to free up a slot, you can easily delete an existing number before requesting a new one. This keeps your connections manageable and your number limit clear.

No additional cost

Temporary phone numbers are a complimentary feature — there's no extra charge for using them. Call charges are the same as those for regular calls under your current phone plan.

Internet access not required

Once a temporary phone number has been assigned, you don't need an internet connection to make or receive calls. It works over a standard phone network, just like any other call.
