    Curam is the largest digital care agency in the UK. We operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

    We are the only UK provider supporting all care types. We service the domiciliary care sector in its entirety; every type of care package to every client type, regardless of package length, offering our clients near universal choice and flexibility. We are regulated by the CQC and rated ‘Good’. Every client on Curam is offered access to CQC regulated care packages and many choose this option sometimes by choice more often by necessity. Regulated packages do come however at a higher cost as a result of higher required levels of supervision. As a result many Curam clients choose non-regulated care packages provided by verified, experienced carers sourced and supported via Curam.

    Our proprietary technology implements savings through our bespoke end-to-end integrated digital processes and app, so clients pay on average 20% less and carers earn up to 50% more on average. Our carer fee is the lowest in the sector at 15%.

    Traditional care agency fees, by comparison, can be up to 50% more than the average fees charged on Curam. According to industry research hourly carers were paid a mean rate of £11.231* (median £11.00) in the private sector whilst traditional care agencies charge clients on average between £25 and £35 per hour.

    Since launching in 2018, Curam has been committed to building a progressive, technology driven care provision solution.

    The company’s three founders, Jody O'Neill, Benjamin Weatherall and Patrick Wallace —friends from their time at Trinity College Dublin— who provide distinctly diverse and complementary experiences to transform social care.

    Jody has extensive expertise as a senior productivity consultant leading transformative initiatives in both the private health sector and the public health sector in Europe. Ben brings significant operational know-how from his extensive career in financial services, having worked in major international markets including Hong Kong, Sydney and London. Patrick initially brings a public service background, having served as an officer in the British Army followed by a long career in corporate finance across a range of commercial sectors including healthcare.

    Together, their combined experience underpins Curam’s service-oriented approach to driving innovation and excellence in social care.

    When Curam succeeds and profits, so do our carers and their communities. We believe that quality care takes time, so carers on Curam don’t offer short 30-minute care sessions, our shortest shift length is one hour.

    Being a carer usually means working long hours with low pay, leading to high levels of burnout. At Curam we believe carers should be fairly compensated for the wonderful work they do and should also be in charge of their schedule and who they work with. This leads to better quality care as carers are properly rested and fairly compensated. Curam carers are paid up to 50% more than traditional agencies on average, look at the table below for more information.

    On Curam clients access the full range of care services across the UK. Every client on Curam is offered managed care services (which does usually involve a higher cost in fees) or regulated Care Quality Commission (CQC) care. Many privately funded clients opt for the self-managed model allowing them to book care packages directly with help from the Curam technology and support team.

    Unlike introductory agencies, we provide a full-service care solution that manages your support from start to finish and can support the full range of regulated, managed and self-managed care packages.

    Our care packages are dictated by the client’s wants and needs. Packages can be regulated or unregulated, and carers can either elect to be self-employed or if the client prefers, employed. Again, this can be done directly by the client, with Curam managing all pay-roll requirements or if necessary, the carer can be employed directly by Curam and then supplied to the client.
