I enjoy cooking and baking, making comforting and wholesome meals I'm a qualified Beauty Therapist, training in Swedish and Indian Head Massage. I have my British Driving License, and more than happy to drive, my clients car, for shopping, social outings etc... I'm a great communicator, very responsible, and have a good sense of humour. I have been a carer for 24 years. I first started in care in a nursing home worked there for 4 years, gained alot of knowlege, stoma care, catheter care, pallative care, dementia care. I then went to work for Derbyshire county council for 19 years working in the community. This was mainly full personal care, medication administration, domestic duties. Hoisting clients. I then went onto working for a private care agency but this wasnt for me. I love my job as a care worker love meeting new people, and very laid back, but also like a laugh and a joke to. I am very calm in nature with almost three years of experience within care where I have worked in care homes and now work in domiciliary care in the community. Most of my colleagues have expressed my valued support whilst working with them and an asset to the team. I do feel it is my calling to work within care and care for others. To know that I have made a difference to their day even by the smallest of things is such a blessing. I feel by creating a good strong relationship with the client and their needs gives them security and helps them to feel safe, especially in their own homes. They need to be listened to which is something I am good at. I am empathetic and compassionate and care so much about the people I look after. I am approachable and relaxed. I don’t stress about anything and like to make people feel at ease when they are in my company. I am experienced and know my job and what to do. I learn very quickly with client’s and their needs. I will go above and beyond to make them feel cared about and important. I have had experience of working with clients that have had catheter, PEG, stoma and required moving and handling, I am currently in the process of updating my training so will be able to offer these services very soon.
