"I have been doing caring for 16 years and have worked in different types of care settings. I worked with elderly people, dementia, hospitals, live in, hospice, learning disabilities, mental health also with children with physical disabilities. I am currently working as a team leader in a care home. I am a caring person, very flexible and willing to work in any unit, with any client. More so, I am a good team player when working, and independently take decisions on clients best interests if needs arise. Each job presents its particular challenges, however, I always try my possible best to deliver a high standard of care. I am very aware of the effect of good attendance and punctuality as my job requires. I do engage clients with good activities and I always make their safety my priority whenever I am out with the client or within their home. I am an outgoing person, I love eating out and having fun with friends, I love shopping, singing and enjoy listening to music, preferably Gospel. Now, in summary, I am a very patient person and always enjoy reaching out for those who are in need, or who need support. I love people and enjoy learning from different backgrounds. "Hello, some information on what I have been doing for the last four years - I was previously employed as a carer for a very frail lady in South Africa, mainly as her companion and driver, taking her to appointments and, best of all, coffee dates. I arrived in the UK in June 2020 at the start of the lockdown due to Covid, at the beginning of my caring career I initially worked as a live-in carer in the Oxford area for some months, after which I decided to change to domiciliary caring and at the same time moved to Walton on Thames from Bristol as I wanted to be close to my daughters, one of whom lives in Walton and the other in London. I was full-time employed as a domiciliary Carer through an Agency in Ashford for about a year and a half, which is where I did a large proportion of my training. At the same time have enjoyed meeting many lovely clients, who at times were challenging, but we ended up being good friends, and we both looked forward to our regular visits. Since leaving the agency environment, I changed to a more self-employed way of working in the domiciliary caring industry in and around Walton, Weybridge, and Cobham, though I have found myself visiting and driving to clients as far as Leatherhead and Croydon. I have many hobbies, but most of all enjoy knitting for my grandchildren, of whom I have two, walking and visiting the wonderful parks and rivers around our area, reading, cooking and my regular yoga practice.
