Extra Qualification: CSTF : Care Skills Training Framework. (Large file). My mode of care has always been to encourage the client (friend) going for walks (if possible). DT6 5JE 2183 I enjoy taking care of people/homes/pets and plants and find it very rewarding. I am very calming and friendly and a holistic therapist part time. My experience started out as a live-in carer for a spinal injury care company. I also worked for a care agency, where I cared for a girl with disabilities, there was always 2 carers in this role and we took her to school, administered medication and checked blood and ketone levels. Within this agency, I covered many different care homes and agencies across Bristol. I also supported 2 ladies privately, both had a spinal injury, where I supported with personal care, using a catheter, cooking and a lot of driving. I like driving and I am a very careful driver, I can drive an automatic and a manual car. My preference is home care as I love seeing people so relaxed in their own home. I am also a complementary therapist, so naturally, I am a gentle caring person. I love working with all ages, but particularly fond of the elderly. I used to go into a few care homes in Bristol and offer mini treatments, this is at a dementia home and one of my friends who is like a grandma had dementia. I am a fantastic listener too! I am now back living in Dorset and looking forward to caring for people that need support in this area. I would prefer a minimum of 2 hours + per visit.

Being an experienced carer who has received good training, professional development, experience, and qualifications to back this up to make me confident in providing care with seamless ease. I will be respectfully deal with personal care such as washing toileting management while preserving your dignity. Everyone needs to have autonomy in the way we live. I will respect your right to choose and preserve your dignity. And will not assume you cannot make a decision; I will always help you feel empowered. I will go the extra mile to ensure you are comfortable before I retire, making sure all of your needs are attended to and helping to build trust between the two of us. The last thing you need in your own home is someone who likes to moan about things, complains, or look unhappy. I understand that positivity plays a huge part in feeling well, and you will always find me with a smile and a positive attitude. I have great patience, and you should never feel rushed to do something. I understand that it’s more vital for you to achieve something than how long it takes you to do it. DT73TS 65544 Its now Jan 2025 and I am taking time off from work to volunteer at a Buddhist retreat centre until end of September 2025. I anticipate I will be back and available for work in Autumn of 2025. Here is general info re my skill base and style of working... Please take the time to read my references. Thank you. I work on a relief basis so do please message me to enquire? My rates for Bank Holidays are time and half. Other days usual rate. I may also have capacity for work over Xmas and Nee Year. . Please do look at my client references for validation of my work ethic. OFFERING RESPITE WORK rather than long term placement for foreseeable. I have 35 yrs plus experience in caring for people with different needs, in a variety of settings. I am looking for respite care opportunities covering carers breaks or extra care support needed as a transition from hospital back home. I also enjoy supporting people who need some support to live an independent, full and rich life. Also available for palliative care support. I have had previous experience in this area and appreciate the need for patience, calmness, kindness and flexibility. My primary aim has been to support people to remain living as comfortably and independently as possible at home, to enjoy life despite of challenges and ensuring the family members are also listened to and feel equally supported in collaboratively caring for their loved ones. I worked for a company that works with service users with Parkinson's for 5 yrs and I trained carers in understanding the particular needs of those living with this condition . I have supported people with dementia, anxiety and mental health issues, strokes, learning and physical disabilities, end of life and much more. For the past 7yrs I have been a self-employed carer working in the community. All my work has arrived through personal recommendations. Recently a client said of me " you are irreplaceable, there is only one Helen!" My care is of the highest standard and tailored to your needs. I am happy to arrange a meeting with you to discuss this in person before agreeing any shifts should that be of help? Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. Any questions you have please feel free to contact me and we can explore options together.
