"Hi, my name is Serena, I am 52 years old. I am originally from Italy but I have been living in Scotland since 2013. I was already a carer in my country, I was a living carer for a couple ,the wife was with Alzheimer and the husband 89 years old .Then their daughter was bipolar so I had few challenges, I was doing everything in the house, plus book appointments and give meds. Same here for almost 3 years I have been looking after a Lady with dementia and difficult mobility. Then I start work for care homes and community, I get more knowledges about hoists, lifting ,approach different kinds of dementia 's stage and had my SVQ3. I am very carefully about the need of my clients and I always try to cheer them up. Understand the situation and promote their independence, as well their humans rights. Have been in behaviours challenges and learn to react in the best way to let the person calm down. I can change stomach bag, hoists people and cook. I have got a car and I would love to take care of the people in their houses, because I think they feel more comfortable."
