For almost three years, I have been looking after a lady with dementia and limited mobility. I then started working in care homes and the wider community, gaining knowledge about hoists, lifting techniques, and various stages of dementia. I have also obtained my SVQ3 qualification. I am very attentive to the needs of my clients and always strive to uplift them. I understand their situations and promote their independence, as well as their human rights. I have encountered behavioural challenges and have learned how to react in the best way to help individuals calm down.
I can change stoma bags, use hoists, and cook. I have a car and would love to care for people in their homes, as I believe they feel more comfortable in familiar surroundings.
