"I am a highly motivated and goal oriented individual with a compassionate and respectful attitude. I have vast experience in the health care profession. I served 20 years in military hospitals as a qualified nurse in my home country, I am not pin registered in the UK. I love to serve people who are vulnerable and have some special needs. I provide personal care, emotional support, and help with household chores, administer medication, monitor health, carefully maintain records, and collaborate with other health professionals to support a person's independence and well-being. I also have extensive knowledge and experience within handling and moving, safe guarding, and infection control training."

"Hi, my name is Serena, I am 52 years old. I am originally from Italy but I have been living in Scotland since 2013. I was already a carer in my country, I was a living carer for a couple ,the wife was with Alzheimer and the husband 89 years old .Then their daughter was bipolar so I had few challenges, I was doing everything in the house, plus book appointments and give meds. Same here for almost 3 years I have been looking after a Lady with dementia and difficult mobility. Then I start work for care homes and community, I get more knowledges about hoists, lifting ,approach different kinds of dementia 's stage and had my SVQ3. I am very carefully about the need of my clients and I always try to cheer them up. Understand the situation and promote their independence, as well their humans rights. Have been in behaviours challenges and learn to react in the best way to let the person calm down. I can change stomach bag, hoists people and cook. I have got a car and I would love to take care of the people in their houses, because I think they feel more comfortable."

"I’ve primarily worked with adults (18+) providing a range of care duties since 2005. My previous work covers adult disability fostering services, respite services, community support work, and supported living, including waken and sleeping nights. I live in the north side of Glasgow, however I cover all areas of Glasgow and surrounding. I am a business insured driver and have use of my own car, I also on occasion drive clients cars as requested. I currently work in partnership with a major care provider in Glasgow on a self-employed basis and provide bank work to others as required. I’m fully upto date with all my training, PVG and SSSC registered. I’m currently studying my social work degree which I do in my spare time. I treat everyone I meet with dignity and respect as well as maintaining client confidentiality. I wear visible ID when out and about where a risk maybe presented to myself or the person I’m supporting while respecting the clients right to privacy where possible. I have recently supported Individuals in a range of activities including: • befriending and companionship services, • support in the home, cooking & cleaning etc, • support with medical/health & personal appointments, • provided befriending to individuals in hospitals, • support to the gym, swimming, sauna & massage, • support in shopping, eating out and visits to the pub, • support in trips to museums, zoos, cinemas & sport, • supported in sourcing community groups & clubs, • supporting younger people to school or college, • supported in holidays, short breaks & family visits • support in attending, weddings, funerals & family events, • supporting individuals to meet their religious needs, • provided support in transition of care, moving etc… I hope this gives you a good idea of my experience and willingness to support. My hourly rate is a reflection of the professional service that I provide as a private carer. I am generally very busy with a full client base and waiting list, however, care requirements for many clients change frequently so please check with me on my current availability. Should you have any questions then please feel free to reach out to me through the Curam Platform. "

A respite carer steps in for a short time so a family member or regular carer can take a break, while your loved one continues receiving familiar support at home.
Support may include:
Personal care and getting dressed
Meals, drinks and medication reminders
Help with mobility and transfers
Companionship and reassurance
Hobbies, outings and appointments
Light household tasks
Overnight support where agreed
Updates for family members
Before care starts, it helps to share the person’s usual routine, preferences and the tasks they can still manage independently.
You do not need to wait until caring feels unmanageable before asking for help. A short break can give you time to rest, recover and keep your caring role sustainable.
Respite care may be worth considering if:
You feel constantly tired or overwhelmed
Your sleep, health or relationships are being affected
You are struggling to balance care with work or family life
You feel anxious about leaving your loved one alone
Their care needs have become more demanding
You need time to rest, recover or focus on your own wellbeing
Taking a break can help you return to caring with more energy and patience, while your loved one continues receiving the support they need.

Funding is assessed individually, so not every respite care cost will automatically be covered. It is best to seek current advice before arranging ongoing care.
Unpaid adult carers in Scotland can ask for an Adult Carer Support Plan. This looks at your caring role, wellbeing and whether support such as a break from caring could help.
Self-directed Support may give an eligible person more choice over how assessed care is arranged, including direct payments or support organised by the local authority.

Respite care is temporary support that allows a family member, friend or unpaid carer to take a break. A professional carer steps in for an agreed period and follows the person’s usual care routine at home.
Support may last for a few hours, overnight, over a weekend or for several weeks. The respite carer may help with personal care, meals, medication reminders, mobility, companionship and everyday activities.
Respite care in Glasgow can last for a single visit, several hours, overnight, a weekend or a longer period. It may be arranged as a one-off service or regularly each week.
The most suitable length depends on how much support your loved one needs, how long you will be unavailable and the chosen carer’s availability.
You may be eligible for help following an Adult Carer Support Plan or an assessment of the person requiring care. Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership can explain whether local-authority support, Self-directed Support or other short-break funding may be available.
Some people may also qualify for disability or carer-related benefits. Eligibility varies, and funding should be confirmed before care is booked.
In some circumstances, respite care may be arranged on the same day or within 24 hours. This depends on the location, the time of the request, the type of support needed and local carer availability.
Providing clear information about the required hours, responsibilities and care needs can help suitable carers respond more quickly.
Discuss backup arrangements before care begins, particularly when support is essential. You can save suitable carers to your Curam account, search for another available professional or post a care job to find replacement cover.
For regular respite arrangements, it may be helpful to build a small team of carers who understand your loved one’s routine.
Curam cannot guarantee that the same replacement carer will always be available at short notice.
Yes. You can review carer profiles and choose someone with whom your loved one feels comfortable. Preferences relating to gender, language, culture, personality and specialist experience can all be considered when searching.
Availability may be more limited when several specific requirements must be met, so it is helpful to begin your search as early as possible.
The right respite carer should offer more than practical help. They should understand your loved one’s routine, respect their independence and help them feel comfortable while you are away. Curam allows you to compare vetted carers in Glasgow and choose someone based on their experience, skills, rates, availability and personality. Whether you need a few hours to yourself, overnight reassurance or longer-term holiday cover, you can arrange respite care around your family rather than changing your family around a rigid care schedule.
