"I am a highly motivated and goal oriented individual with a compassionate and respectful attitude. I have vast experience in the health care profession. I served 20 years in military hospitals as a qualified nurse in my home country, I am not pin registered in the UK. I love to serve people who are vulnerable and have some special needs. I provide personal care, emotional support, and help with household chores, administer medication, monitor health, carefully maintain records, and collaborate with other health professionals to support a person's independence and well-being. I also have extensive knowledge and experience within handling and moving, safe guarding, and infection control training."

"Hi, my name is Serena, I am 52 years old. I am originally from Italy but I have been living in Scotland since 2013. I was already a carer in my country, I was a living carer for a couple ,the wife was with Alzheimer and the husband 89 years old .Then their daughter was bipolar so I had few challenges, I was doing everything in the house, plus book appointments and give meds. Same here for almost 3 years I have been looking after a Lady with dementia and difficult mobility. Then I start work for care homes and community, I get more knowledges about hoists, lifting ,approach different kinds of dementia 's stage and had my SVQ3. I am very carefully about the need of my clients and I always try to cheer them up. Understand the situation and promote their independence, as well their humans rights. Have been in behaviours challenges and learn to react in the best way to let the person calm down. I can change stomach bag, hoists people and cook. I have got a car and I would love to take care of the people in their houses, because I think they feel more comfortable."

My previous work covers adult disability fostering services, respite services, community support work, and supported living, including waken and sleeping nights. I live in the north side of Glasgow, however I cover all areas of Glasgow and surrounding. I am a business insured driver and have use of my own car, I also on occasion drive clients cars as requested. I currently work in partnership with a major care provider in Glasgow on a self-employed basis and provide bank work to others as required. I’m fully upto date with all my training, PVG and SSSC registered. I’m currently studying my social work degree which I do in my spare time. I treat everyone I meet with dignity and respect as well as maintaining client confidentiality. I wear visible ID when out and about where a risk maybe presented to myself or the person I’m supporting while respecting the clients right to privacy where possible. My hourly rate is a reflection of the professional service that I provide as a private carer. I am generally very busy with a full client base and waiting list, however, care requirements for many clients change frequently so please check with me on my current availability. Should you have any questions then please feel free to reach out to me through the Curam Platform. "

A carer for the elderly can provide practical help, companionship and reassurance while supporting an older person to remain as independent as possible at home.
Support may include:
Washing, dressing and continence care
Preparing meals and drinks
Medication reminders
Help with mobility and safe movement
Shopping and attending appointments
Companionship and social activities
Light household tasks
Updates for family members
The aim is to help where needed without taking over unnecessarily, so the person can stay involved in everyday decisions and routines.
For many older people, staying at home means keeping familiar routines, neighbours, belongings and the everyday things that make life feel comfortable.
A carer can support independence by:
Encouraging the person to do what they can safely manage
Supporting familiar daily routines
Helping with meals, mobility and appointments
Making it easier to stay connected with friends and family
Supporting hobbies, interests and community activities
Noticing when extra support may be needed
Small changes around the home, such as better lighting, removing trip hazards or using mobility aids, can also help someone feel safer and more confident.

An older person may benefit from care at home when everyday activities begin to feel difficult, unsafe or exhausting.
Possible signs include struggling with washing or dressing, forgetting meals or medication, experiencing falls, losing weight, becoming socially isolated or finding it difficult to keep the home safe.
A person does not need to wait until they require full-time care. A few hours of weekly support may be enough to improve safety and confidence.
Home care is a broad term for support provided in someone’s own home. It can be arranged for adults of different ages and with many different needs.
Elderly care is home care specifically tailored to older people. It may include personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, mobility assistance, companionship and support with age-related health conditions.
The terms often overlap, and both services can be delivered hourly, overnight or by a live-in carer.
The cost of elderly care in Glasgow depends on the type of care, the number of hours needed, the carer’s experience and the complexity of the support.
Current Curam Glasgow rates start from approximately £14.12 per hour for hourly care, £800 per week for live-in care and £135 per 10-hour shift for overnight care.
Carers set their own rates, so families should review the live profile and agree the final cost before care begins.
In some circumstances, elderly care may be arranged on the same day or within 24 hours.
Availability depends on the location, time of the request, hours required and the complexity of the person’s care needs.
Providing a clear description of the required support and being flexible about timings can improve the chance of finding an available carer quickly.
Ask about backup arrangements before care starts, particularly when support is essential for the person’s safety or wellbeing.
You can search for another available carer, post a care job or speak with the Curam team about suitable alternatives.
Families arranging regular support may find it helpful to identify more than one trusted carer who understands the person’s needs. However, replacement availability cannot always be guaranteed at short notice.
Yes. You can view individual carer profiles and choose someone with whom your loved one feels comfortable.
You may also consider language, cultural understanding, personality, specialist experience and availability.
Having several specific preferences may reduce the number of available carers, particularly for urgent requests, so it is helpful to start searching as early as possible.
Finding the right elderly carer is about more than matching availability. The person should have suitable experience, communicate respectfully and understand what matters to your loved one. You can speak directly with potential carers before making a decision, helping your loved one feel involved and reassured. Whether you need occasional companionship, daily personal care, overnight reassurance or full-time live-in support, Curam can help you arrange elderly care around the life your loved one already knows.
