Hello, please do ask for more details as things are changing from day to day and I might be able to help short or long term. Hello, I am Eamonn. I am from Ireland with 12 years experience in the care industry. I got into this work because I love working and spending time with people and making a real positive difference in their lives. I have experience working with people who have suffered severe brain injuries and a variety of conditions, and some of these clients I still work with. My main duties include companionship, assisting with personal care, and helping to get out and about in the community. I also have a passion for exercise and physiotherapy, and feel that it is so important for everyone to do some everyday. I currently bring one of my clients to the gym every week and assist with transfers to gym equipment and in and out of the swimming pool, I also record all of the exercise that is done so we can see the progress made over time. With one of my other clients - he is an older gentleman, who I help a few mornings a week, with getting up and ready for the day. I also assist him to go walking every day I work with him, this also enables his wife to have some respite, knowing that her husband is in safe hands. This is just a couple of examples. As I have a variety of experience and skills to help in many different ways to make life more enjoyable for my clients and their family’s. Having looked after my elderly parents and palliative care a few years ago, I now help to look after two severely disabled children which provides me with great pleasure to ensure they can live their lives to the full as much as they can. I also look after a young boy with Autism every week. Care is a very specialised job and I see it as a job that needs lots of Patience, understanding, compassion and support.
