The following knowledge and skills were gained through training as well as hands on experience over the 16 years in care: NVQ Level 2, NVQ Level 3, assisting with washing, dressing and grooming, managing incontinence including catheter care,stoma care, assisting with nutritional intake including feeding, moving and handling including using manual and track hoists, managing and administering medication, making beds and changing bed linen, completing light housework including laundry, managing refuse, making and accompanying to appointments, companionship, organising wardrobes and cupboards as well as knowledge of supporting people with dementia. I have the necessary range of skills and experiences acquired over the 10 years of doing live in care and working with older people who are vulnerable, older people with dementia/ Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, bipolar, physical disabilities and stroke.
