Over the years I have had all different assignments; single and couples, some requiring much more care than others, some mobility stricken and others palliative. I have gone through life changing events with clients and their families, sat up all night waiting for ambulances, doctors, district nurses or family members. I have seen and done things I never thought I could cope with. The benefits have far outweighed the negatives. Learning to listen, learning about history, medical conditions, human vulnerabilities. I have learnt how to adapt, about perspective and that everybody is owed the same care in their twilight years. I have grown rhino-hide and not to take things personally. And then the next assignment comes along which could be very ‘low-key’ to the hectic one before and with it a welcome time to charge one’s batteries and reflect. Companionship – sharing conversation and spending time together Personal care – assisting with bathing, dressing and, when necessary, continence support Helping with mobility – some customers need assistance getting around the home including hoisting and transferring Overseeing medication – all according to the customer’s care plan Household chores – help around the home, such as vacuuming or washing clothes Preparing and cooking meals I am an excellent cook due to my Mediterranean background. Running errands – assisting with tasks such as shopping or picking up prescriptions Would I choose to be a carer again if I had my life over? In a heartbeat. Absolutely!
I really enjoy being a live in carer. It gives me a feeling of a great satisfaction and meaning. Communication and competency are key factors which help to create "chemistry" between caregiver and caretaker. I my opinion that "click" is vital to set up partnership which brings benefits to both parties. To achieve this it requires from me a special set of features: hard work, commitment, passion, creativity, awareness to cooperate closely with others involved in care plan, to know the needs of a caretaker means to be a good listener and being approachable. My task is to help achieve agreed goals, needs and expectations (sometimes). I have been involved in a very broad spectrum of care services covering almost all physical and learning disabilities, mental health, spinal and brain injures, challenging behaviour, epilepsy, Down's syndrome, MS, Dementia, etc. I do work nationwide. I prefer to work shifts 3 weeks work 2 weeks of (but I am flexible especially when my Lady and the Commander grants me permission to work longer- I use this opportunity
Hello, I am a dedicated and passionate caregiver, driven by the strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others. I believe in promoting independence wherever possible and encouraging the wonderful individuals I get to work with to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. I am patient and empathetic in my approach and believe in treating those I support with dignity, respect, and compassion. I can assess and adapt calmly and quickly to new (and challenging) situations and take my responsibilities to heart - always giving of my best. I have a cheerful, gentle disposition and like to see the bright side in most situations. I have worked with individuals with complex needs and have extensive experience with different clients at various stages of dementia. Having worked as a Dementia Coach to other carers, I have a special interest in enabling individuals to live WELL with Dementia. Besides my own care experience, I have worked as a trainer to live-in carers, so I am aware of the high standards expected by clients and their loved ones and expect nothing less of myself. I am organised and methodical in all tasks I undertake. I am professional and hardworking, always willing to 'go the extra mile'. If you think I could be a support to you, or to someone you love, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you. I am currently working between Suffolk and Cheshire. I am unable to take on any new bookings in Suffolk or Cheshire until November 2024. My availability will be limited to Cheshire from November 2024 onwards. Thank you.
Hi, I'm Rita from Hungary. I'm 45 years old and have 12 years experience working as a live-in carer in the UK. I have a lot of experience with spinal care so that would be my first choice, but I have many years experience in elderly care too. Please see details in the condition experience section. The only thing I do not do is dementia/Alzheimer care. I am reliable, calm, kind and a fast learner. In my free time I like to walk, exercise, watch a good movie and read.
