I have cared for my Nan for 3 years when she was in her 80’s and my mother for the last 2 months of her life when she was dying from lung cancer. I’m currently caring for a young man with complex care needs.He has cerebral palsy,epilepsy and a twisted.spine I have also worked in a care home for elderly/disabled residents for a couple of weeks as caring is something I always wanted to do as a career,but couldn’t do the constant shift changes. I am currently doing my NVQ level 3 in heath and social care. I can assist with helping a client maintain living in their own home with tasks like shopping, cooking, meal preparation, cleaning and taking them to appointments. I especially love cooking and enjoy making traditional meals like shepherds pie and spaghetti bolognaise. I previously owned my own business for 21 years, a pet and equestrian business. I have 6 dogs, including 1 that is disabled and I love taking them on walks and generally looking after them. I am looking for clients Monday to Friday starting at 8am to 6pm. I can also do sleeping nights Sunday to Thursday I prefer to do 2/3 nights per week. I can work with male and female clients.
1. Completed all mandatory training, NVQ levels 2 & 3 in health and social care, level 1 drug awareness and level 2 in supporting learning disabilities. 2. I work with clients with various needs, I understand each client’s situation/circumstances is different and will need to get to know their specific needs and what they like by listening to the client or read the care plan. 3. Keeping the house tidy, cleaning dishes, doing laundry and ironing, cooking, shopping etc 4 I assist with all personal care required. 5. Hobbies, going out for walks, going to church, watching tv, reading, gardening, listening to music, volunteering, cooking/baking. I have 21 years, working in client’s homes with various needs where I have learnt team playing with professionals working with families. I am a caring, patient, passionate, a good listener, can adapt and come down to the level of the client, good communication, written and IT skills, remain calm in stressful situations, initiative and pro-active, reliable, honest, hardworking, dedicated. I enjoy cooking, being creative of new dishes and following recipes. I hold a clean driving license and can drive clients in their car or mine. Care is a rewarding job which I have witnessed clients achieve their dreams, regain self-esteem and confidence. It promotes a higher quality of life encouraging them to cope better with their difficulties as they reside in familiar environments.
