Recently I looked after a 91 year old man with Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's and Dementia and a 98 year old lady with Dementia, to provide her full-time carer a break, on a relief basis. I provide: • Companionship – sharing conversation and spending time together • Personal care – assisting with bathing, dressing, and when necessary, continence support • Helping with mobility – some customers need assistance getting around the home • Overseeing medication – all according to the customer’s care plan • Household chores – help around the home, such as vacuuming or washing clothes • Preparing and cooking meals • Running errands – assisting with tasks such as shopping or picking up prescriptions Here’s some feedback from one of my’s referees: "Shashi provided 24 hour care, she was responsible for all nutritional needs and administration of mums meds as required. Shashi did all the washing and household chores, she was great companionship for mum and myself during what was a stressful time for myself and my husband. She would be a great asset to any family" ~ SM I looked after several elderly men and women, including a 89, 86 and 98 year old clients. My longest live-in care position was for 15 months when I looked after a 91 year old man with Parkinsons Diseases, Lewes Body and Dementia. In my role as a live-in carer I have : I have set up and kept under review a client specific care plan I have provided meals, fed the client, given them their medication I have provided personal care, including incontinence support, showering and dressing I carried out a range of housekeeping tasks like cleaning, washing, laundry, cooking and preparing his meals, administering and ordering his medication, arranging doctors' appointments and medical checks. My hobbies are cooking, entertaining dinner guests. I like reading, journaling and meeting up with friends in my free time. I look forward to meeting you and discussing with you how I can help deliver exceptional care for your loved one/s. "
