I am patient, hard working and a good communicator. I have 20 years experience working in the care industry and have developed a compassionate approach. I work hard to get to know my clients, so I can help them enjoy their interests and hobbies. I have worked with people with dementia, chronic conditions, mental health, autism, learning disabilities. I can assist with hygiene, toileting, eating, cooking, cleaning and any administrative tasks which need support. I became a carer first when looking after mother for almost 2 years. She was recovering from a road traffic accident. I also cared for my son after he was diagnosed with autism to date. He has special needs and learning disabilities. When he started becoming independent, I decided to carry on working as a carer to support other people with different conditions and needs. I am a good cook and love trying out different healthy recipes. Please get in touch if you think I could help you and I will reply as soon as I can.
Hello, I'm Amanda. Over the past three years I've worked as a live-in Carer in a number of placements in the UK, caring for people with complex conditions including Stroke, Dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Epilepsy, Spinal injury, Incontinence, and Clinical Deafness. I also assisted in a dual-carer placement with end-of-life care of a gentleman before he sadly passed away at home. Before being a Carer I was a Yoga and Pilates practitioner, helping clients individually, many of whom were over 70 and suffering with pain or reduced mobility due to trauma or simple wear and tear on the joints. I've also worked with children and young adults, including a young woman who was a wheelchair user. As a Carer, I plan to continue with live-in care, and look forward to travelling to different parts of the UK for work. I can assist with personal care, medication, hygiene, food preparation, and household administration. I am patient, empathetic, and a good listener, and comfortable in the role of companion. Where possible, I like to encourage my clients to stay active, even just a short walk in the garden, as I believe in the power of movement and nature. I also believe in the power of humour and encourage this where I can. I would love to hear from you. Please get in touch if you feel I could help.
I have been working in the care industry for 18 years now. I have taken on various different roles such as: Carer, Senior Care, Unit Manager and Deputy Manager. My passion is care and feel I want to go back to being a carer, without the management side. I have supported individual's of all ages from 8 - 104 years old and with a range of conditions, from autism, verbal non verbal, A.D.H.D challenging behaviour, diabetics, dementia, all types, epilepsy, end of life care, and much more. I am reliable, honest, caring, hard working and a patient person, who will always do my best when looking after vulnerable people. I have good communication skills, I enjoy engaging with individual's support, I have a good sense of humour, and empathy. I have supported individual's with exercises from physios. I have good observations skills and I will notice if health declines, and will liaise with family members or professionals, so the individual's get the appropriate support. I have business insurance on my car, it is a medium sized car, which is higher, so easier to get in and out. I can access the community with individual's, this could be regular clubs, bingo, church, or spontaneous outings, to enhance well being. I enjoy cooking every day meals and I am open to cooking different things. I enjoy spending time with my family and dog.
