I have been in care for 20 years. I worked with a client with spinal injuries for 12 years just leaving 2019 as travel was getting a lot. I really loved my job which covered personal care cooking cleaning etc. During my time with that client I also worked adhoc with a women with Parkinson’s for 3 years which I really enjoyed. Both of these clients were sleepovers both waking and non waking. The last year I have worked in an nursing home environment with clients with dementia, elderly and infirm and strokes I have enjoyed this too but really enjoyed doing 1-1 care as well. Recently I worked with a client with muscular dystrophy who was ventilated this came to an end due to funding cuts. I have 3 grown up boys and now a lovely grandson and enjoy socialising walking reading and listening to music. I’m doing a course through skill network challenging behaviour in children and I am completing my svq 2 in care through upskill with south lanarkshire council and I’m hoping to do my svq 3 this way aswell. I’m really bubbly and outgoing and I get on great with everyone.
