EX20 2NW 192811 Hello I would like to introduce myself, my name is Anna. I've been a carer for more than 10 years. I would describe myself as a kind, patient, conscientious and caring individual. I enjoy working closely with the elderly and others in need. I consider it a privilege and a joy to contribute to the happiness of others. I have extensive experience in all aspects of personal care, I enjoy cooking and have excellent organisational skills. I've taken clients shopping, to meet friends, trips outs, clubs and any excursions the clients wishes. I have a full UK clean driving licence. I love being outdoors, enjoy all aspects of nature, I like to swim, walk and I am fit and healthy. I love gardening, growing vegetables and cooking healthy and nutritious foods. TQ13 7DT 131980 Hello, I'm 46 and a keen motorcyclist. Originally from South Africa, I've lived in Devon for almost 26 years now. I've worked in various trades, picked up many skills and dealt with many different scenarios. I spent a decade in Hospitality, from waitress to barmaid, receptionist through to managing restaurants, kitchen manager and head chef, ran a bed n breakfast, ran pubs, clubs and outdoor events. I've been a security guard, fire marshall and even a bouncer. I've worked as a hospital bedwatch officer for 2 years with patients needing 24 hour supervision who were at risk of harming themselves or others, due to psychosis, drug and alcohol detox, awaking from a coma, dementia, learning or  developmental difficulties, self harming, suicide attempts, eating disorders or other mental health issues. I've also learnt about a myriad of complimentary therapies managing a holistic health clinic for 3 years. In the summer months, I often still work as Night Manager for Welfare at numerous festivals working alongside medics and security to help distressed folks needing care, support and advice, whether that's from dehydration and heat exhaustion, drugs or alcohol misuse, domestic violence, sexual assault or having a mental health crisis. We're  also responsible for safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. As I usually work 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, I try to coincide my festival work on the weeks I'm not doing care. I will consider doing 3 weeks on, 1 week off if needs be. In the past I have been a Private Carer for a lady for the last three years of her life with complex needs due to her Ehlers Danlos (hypermobility type), leading to frequent dislocations and subluxations of her joints, gastroparesis and epilepsy. She was fed through total parental nutrition directly through her vena cava into her heart and so I was responsible for administering medication through her PEG, domiciliary help and personal care 3 to 4 days a week to give her children and carer some respite. I've also given 6 months full time palliative care to a gentleman with COPD and stage 4 lung cancer, taking care of all his private administration, organising his medication schedules, nutrition and hydration, assisted with personal care and accompanied him to his chemotherapy treatments and hospital appointments. Recently, I've worked in Home Care for 2 years, visiting clients in their own homes helping around the house, prompting or administering medication, giving personal care, supporting with mobility, moving and handling, stoma and catheter care, assisting with washing and dressing, companionship, cooking meals, doing gardening and getting shopping in. I've been doing Live-in Care for about a year or so, doing much the same. My colleagues and clients describe me as trustworthy, patient, understanding, compassionate, friendly, resourceful and organised. My friends would describe me as honest, reliable, creative, sociable and funny. I love riding my motorcycle, enjoy various boardgames, watching films and make leathercrafts to sell online in my spare time. I love dancing and singing along to my favourite music. I enjoy camping, swimming and walking. I like meeting people and making new friends, sharing new memories and experiences together. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I look forward to meeting you and helping you wherever I am able to. Have a wonderful day! Please note: I ask for double pay on National Bank Holidays and a contribution of £30 per week towards food if working in a live-in situation. Thank you for your understanding. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

PL5 1DE 172484 I am friendly, caring and compassionate person who love to interact with people and my passion is to be part of someones growing and development. I have over 9 years experience supporting vulnerable adults and young people with Dementia, learning difficulties and significant physical disabilities, including vascular dementia, autism, mental health, challenged behaviour, stroke, muscular dystrophy etc. These experiences have made reflect on the different interpersonal skills and attitudes required to adapt to the situation and the client to maximise participation, but also to build a good rapport where trust is important. I have been able to make a positive difference in individual’s life by follow standards and helping them to live independent, secure, and safe from harm. I keep myself motivate and always have a good attitude. I did additional studies in Health and Social Care for Children and Young People’s Service which brought me more experience in the sector. I also promoted numerous changes and improvements to my client’s life, by introducing menu plans, food intake, health charts, observation charts, repositioning charts etc. I had the ability to think on my feet to be able to prioritise tasks, but also ensure others tasks are covered. I have always shown great flexibility to meet the needs of the client, sometimes at short notice which shows the unpredictability of managing vulnerable clients. I have a good understanding regarding the management of vulnerable adults, safeguarding policy, but also issues surrounding mental capacity. I understand the importance of working alongside their families who also requires to be well supported as much as the customers involved in the care. Equally, I have developed acute sensitivity towards subtle changes in a person’s behaviour or presentation that may indicate all is not well. I feel confident that I understand policies and procedures to address concerns and I am very proud that at times – however difficult, I put the needs of my customers first. I am able to clearly and confidently lease with other members of the multidisciplinary team involved in customer’s support plan as this encourages good communication and facilitates continuity of care. I have done several trainings in complex care. I also understand the need for hydration, good nutrition, skin care/pressure care, medication as part of the client’s holistic management. Those trainings helped me to understanding these vulnerable people conditions have multifactorial elements of care and I feel confident in being able to give the right support, but also communicate with those specialist services responsible to the specific care. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

PL9 7ER 128213 Hello and thank you for looking at my profile. I love working with people and providing person centered care and support by focusing on their goals and what's important to them but also to enable them to do things for themselves to promote their independence I have currently over 20 years experience in Health and Social since leaving college but the past 11 years I have loved working as an Occupational Therapy Support Worker for the NHS in a local hospital supporting with safe and timely hospital discharges. This is achieved through providing advice, home assessments and issuing equipment which will help to maintain people's safety and independence. This is done by managing any long term needs and promoting further rehabilitation within their home environment to regain their confidence and strength with managing daily living tasks. I would like to think my greatest core skills and strengths are my interpersonal skills in being caring, compassionate and empathetic towards others needs and wishes but also having to understand the fears and anxieties which families may have for people living vulnerable and alone. I always like the phrase " treat others as you wish to be treated". Having worked in the NHS I am aware of the importance of legislative frameworks such as the importance of Safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act. Now you know a little about me professionally, you may like to get to know me as a person. For my personal enjoyment, I love craft and after completing a year of Architectural and Exhibition Signwork many years ago, continue to enjoy some bits as well as other craft work. I enjoy the magical wonders of the world and nature which has evolved during me walking my pet whippet Winston. I also like gardening and plants but also more active hobbies such as bike riding, kayaking and horse-riding when I am more able. Primarily I am looking to work in the Plymouth area, working weekdays or weekends but preferably on a short term basis or a one off episode of care. After having worked in the Occupational Therapy Department, ,my knowledge is in rehabilitation and equipment which can help people manage more independently at home, so I am Looking to work with more mobile clients (such as using a wheeled frame/ trolley/ four wheeled walker/ crutches/ sticks). I am willing to work in both a Personal Assistant role or that of a Carer and would also enjoy short term support such as supporting people being discharged from hospital. I am always willing and enjoy learning new skills as well as meeting new people. Now you've read my profile and if you're happy with what you've read about me and you feel I would be a good match for your need, please don't hesitate to get in contact. {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

PL21 0WN 66210 Hi, I'm Holly. I'm based in Devon but I am also more than happy to travel. Most of my life has involved taking care of my family, first of all, my children, then later, my elderly parents, and recently my grandson. I decided to become a professional carer in 2021. I'm given the feedback that I am good at taking care of people and have a kind, professional and patient nature. I love the naturalness of the work and the daily routine. It makes me happy to help others to be happy. I'm hard working and I have worked in a variety of settings. Live-in care is what I love the most, it's such a lovely environment to be in. I enjoy keeping a home tidy and organised, also attending to any admin matters that are needed such as contacting medical services. I'm a nature lover at heart and especially enjoy working with clients who appreciate nature. My greatest amount of experience is with dementia and I feel very comfortable in that realm. I am experienced in end-of-life care. By the way, my background is in nutrition. While I am passionate about healthy eating I absolutely respect the wishes of my clients when it comes to dietary choices. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"1","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"1"}

After leaving school I did my nurse training and worked as a nurse for some years. After having my children I decided to be a carer as this is what I am passionate about in helping people with every day activities and making their lives better. Also enabling them to remain in their own homes with everything that is familiar to them. I have experience in many areas.The last five years I have been looking after a client with Parkinson’s and dementia. I deliver care that is holistic and includes listening and supporting the loved ones of those I look after.
