SA72 6RT 107099 I have been a support worker for adults on the autism spectrum, adults with challenging behaviour, the elderly and children . I am a good carer in that I put the client's dignity first. I am always friendly, empathetic and have a good sense of humour too. My mantra is that if they were a member of my family I would want the best for them. Therefore, show the client the same consideration as a family member. I always take a lateral flow test before seeing a client. I will continue to do this during any period of covid-19 concern.

SA61 2PT 17077 I have been a carer/support worker for 40 years. This is my life and I don’t class it as work as I enjoy it so much. In 2016, I won an award for being the best carer in Pembrokeshire which was a privilege as carers don’t get recognised. I have supported a wide variety of individuals and have also done many sleep-ins. I have worked with elderly, brain damage, dementia , learning disabilities, palative, challenging behaviour, autism, epilepsy also in A&E, and lots more I'm very reliable and a very good time keeper. I have not been off sick in 11 years.

SA32 7RB 216715 ALL ABOUT ME: Hello and a warm welcome to my profile! I’m Claire, a 44 year old single woman who was born and raised in Hertfordshire, England. My professional background includes more than 20 years’ experience of caring for children, teenagers and adults in various roles and settings. I have previously worked as a Nursery Nurse, Teacher, Boarding School Houseparent, and more recently, live-in carer for adults. Of course, these roles had many differences between them, but they also offered many shared experiences that are still very useful today in my work as a carer. For example, I have a lot of experience with: Creating action plans on how best to meet an individual’s needs Learning to recognise a person’s ‘normal’ behaviour patterns, in order to recognise when something is amiss and needs looking into Planning fun, creative activities to stimulate fun and wellbeing Working closely with an individual’s family, to ensure we can do what is best to meet their needs Consulting other professionals (medical, safeguarding) so that vital information is shared and acted on Carrying out risk assessments as necessary, and other Health and Safety paperwork, to ensure the individual’s safety at all times Reporting on matters of Safeguarding to the relevant external bodies Managing, administering and recording the individual’s medications First Aid training And many more besides! My care experience has included working as a Live-in Carer for two different positions, as well as an Overnight Carer position. I'm fairly flexible about my next role. WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR: My ideal role would be a live-in carer position, on a permanent basis, with approximately 6 weeks off throughout the year. However, I am honestly very flexible with this and would much rather find the right person to care for, than the right hours. I am open to any possible arrangement, whether that is short-term, long-term, nights only etc., and am happy to negotiate that based on your needs. BECOMING YOUR CARER: As a carer, I understand that my main responsibility is to support you, the client. My purpose is to help you to live as independently as possible, with the reassurance that I am there to support you and enable this. Working with you - the client: Firstly, we would work together to create a personalised Care Plan, that explains how I can meet your needs as a carer. From time to time, we will look over this plan again to discuss how things are going and what we might change. On a day-to-day level, I will offer support wherever you might want it, such as: Laundry and Housekeeping Cooking and meal preparation Shopping Personal care including dressing Medication prompts Pet care Companionship when you want it, and time by yourself when preferred Driving you to your appointments and taking you for trips out and about Helping you to maintain family links and friendships. Sharing your hobbies with you. Perhaps we like some of the same things? My own hobbies include reading, visiting the library, watching old Hollywood movies, days out in the countryside, visiting tea rooms, singing, playing board games, watching football matches. From time to time, I will probably need to involve other people in your care; with your permission of course. For example, your family members and friends. I could communicate with your family and friends to let them know how you are. This might be through phone calls, emails, text messages, or in person. I can also liaise with them to set up opportunities for you to meet up and socialise, if you wish. There may also be times where I will need to work alongside medical professionals to make sure you are keeping in good health. I can help you keep on top of appointments, and attend these with you if you like, to communicate key information. Where medical care plans have been issued, I can help you to put them into action and review them afterwards. Please rest assured that these are things we would discuss together and that I would only act with your permission. WHAT’S NEXT? I really hope that you have enjoyed reading my profile and perhaps I might be a good match for what you are looking for in a carer. Please do feel free to get in touch any time to say hello or ask a question. Goodbye for now!

I’ve provided live in care for many different clients with differing needs over the years. I have also worked a bank staff health care support worker with the NHS Wales. I have a warm and friendly personality and I get on well with everyone. I’m cheerful and tolerant when working with clients, and I quickly establish a friendly rapport with them. I’m also experienced in caring for those with challenging behaviour and a variety of other needs, including dementia, Parkinson’s etc. I always provide the best standard of care for my clients, and make sure the home they live in is clean. I have a level 5 diploma in Health and Social Studies and I have undertaken a variety of relevant training courses in care related subjects. I enjoy 1:1 care with client and therefore like providing live in, as it allows me to focus my attention on one or two clients. I have many hobbies and other interest.
