Understanding dementia with alzheimer's society

EX14 1XG 15907 I have been a caregiver for seven years, five and half years working in community care helping people with early and intermediate stage dementia. I have also worked in a residential care home for for two years which has given me experience in more advanced dementia as well. I work only with the elderly and love giving them companionship, taking them out and making their lonely days more enjoyable. I help with all the basic light household duties and personal care where necessary, I have a carer certificate and L2 & L3 equivalent to NVQ’s in Dementia care. Dementia is a devastating diagnosis for any family to receive and I specialise in this area. I am happy to do respite for a few hours in a day if family carer needs a respite so they can have that much needed break to relax or go shopping. I am happy to work with pets in the household and travel within a radius of about 10 miles. I am also fully computer literate if needed. Non smoker to work in smoke free homes only and no evenings or nights. I concentrate on the areas of Sidmouth, Honiton and cullompton post codes. {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"0","field_care_type_first":null,"field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"0","field_care_type_second":null,"field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"0","field_care_type_third":null,"field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"0","field_care_type_fourth":null,"field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"0","field_care_type_fifth":null,"field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"0","field_care_type_sixth":null,"field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"0","field_care_type_seven":null}

I have a strong communication ability, which makes it easier to have effective communication with clients; this also is a way of building a trust and connectivity, because if I can accept clients and connect with them it makes my work easier, and building rapport creates a harmonious working relationship, which creates respect, inclusion and good observations strategies, which results in discharging my duty consciously staying under ethical principles. These will lead to meaningful and fruitful results. false

My rates for Bank Holidays are time and half. Other days usual rate. OFFERING RESPITE WORK rather than long term placement for foreseeable. I have 35 yrs plus experience in caring for people with different needs, in a variety of settings. I am looking for respite care opportunities covering carers breaks or extra care support needed as a transition from hospital back home. I also enjoy supporting people who need some support to live an independent, full and rich life. Also available for palliative care support. I have had previous experience in this area and appreciate the need for patience, calmness, kindness and flexibility. My primary aim has been to support people to remain living as comfortably and independently as possible at home, to enjoy life despite of challenges and ensuring the family members are also listened to and feel equally supported in collaboratively caring for their loved ones. I worked for a company that works with service users with Parkinson's for 5 yrs and I trained carers in understanding the particular needs of those living with this condition . I have supported people with dementia, anxiety and mental health issues, strokes, learning and physical disabilities, end of life and much more. For the past 7yrs I have been a self-employed carer working in the community. All my work has arrived through personal recommendations. Recently a client said of me " you are irreplaceable, there is only one Helen!" My care is of the highest standard and tailored to your needs. I am happy to arrange a meeting with you to discuss this in person before agreeing any shifts should that be of help? Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. EX13 5QW 97918 Having worked for the NHS Rapid Response team, and Seaton Bank,on moving up and down the country,various nursing and residential care. As an auxiliary support worker and HCA within the NHS. I have been in care for 35 years. I enjoy working independently and taking responsibility, I enjoy my job, and look forward to overnight stays with continuity of the client. Clients like continuity and feel confident to the same carer visiting. Building confidence and trust is important. I have had covid vaccines and up to date to put your mind at rest. I enjoy cleaning, ironing, and washing if that is required through the night. I have hands-on experience with Stoma Care, Hoisting both with ceiling track and manual. Glide sheets, manual handling, repositioning, peg feeding, and pressure care experiences. Weekend work is no problem as I prefer weekends, and can do overnight live in for Saturdays til Monday morning if needed, but not during the week. At 60 I finished a degree in Animal Sciences, and passed Animal Welfare and Management degree. I enjoy the company, caring and helping rescue, fundraising for good welfare of companion animals abroad. I have worked for Cats Protection with rehoming and home checks, and animal welfare checking. I have a happy disposition, work out at the gym as a hobby, like walk and visiting foreign destinations. I have a positive outlook. Nothing really phases me with nursing and care and keep up with modern technology and medications. I give 100% to my patients and can bring new ideas, only if asked for. Over the years I have worked with Dementia although this is demanding keeping calm, defusing situations Is usually the best way, every situation is different, every person individual. There are some very unfair diseases out there, and each one of us is left to cope with what we are given.
