"It’s my desire to treat the people in my care with respect and dignity, providing the best care possible in accordance with my training and experience. Being a carer means being attentive to my clients' needs and wishes and doing my utmost to fulfil them, creating a pleasant environment for both the client and myself. I am patient, kind, and compassionate, and I am able to work collaboratively with people from all departments involved in the total care of my clients, including their families. I am happy to work in a home with animals, such as cats or dogs, as I have always had pets. I am particularly fond of cats, as I wanted my children to grow up with them. When I came to the UK, I brought my daughter's cat with us. I enjoy cooking simple and nutritious meals for my clients. I would sit down with them to discuss their preferences and do my best to prepare their chosen dishes. Another important aspect of my role is to take my clients out into the community to socialise, visit friends, or attend church. Waking my clients each morning with a smile and a cheerful demeanour is very important, ensuring they are ready to proceed with daily tasks and personal care, having meals, and engaging in activities they enjoy, such as crosswords, puzzles, or just chatting. I naturally follow what is required of me according to the client's care plan, ensuring they take their medication as indicated. Primarily, I follow my clients' lead, obtaining their consent and respecting their right to choose if they are mentally capable. At the same time, I ensure that I have downtime to rest and engage in activities that make me happy, such as a hobby, reading, or going for a walk. It is necessary for me to have a two-hour break each day. There will be a surcharge if I have to get up twice at night, and if this occurs frequently, I would contact a family member to arrange for additional support to help me obtain extra rest and recharge, as this will ensure I can work to my full potential."
