DL1 4WJ 237283 I have worked for over 17years in Child, Health and Social care and SEN roles after completing my degree in Teesside university. I am currently pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology. I am a sociable and friendly person, and although my life may appear to be very busy, I manage my time effectively and I am very organised. I have a particular passion for caring and like to use my knowledge and expertise from being in the Care and Education industry to support individuals with respect and dignity. I have a wide range of experience supporting age categories from 3 months up to the elderly care. I have been a lecturer for the past seven years planning and delivering lessons, working across the Childcare and Healthcare department to support students to achieve their full potential and move on into employment. I have delivered care in a compassionate and a person centred way by supporting clients with personal care, shopping and cooking. Occasionally acting as an advocate for clients who may have communication difficulty to ensure that their needs are met. I have a vast amount of experience in all stages of dementia having worked in various care homes supporting elderly residents living with dementia. I have also supported young people and adults with learning disabilities towards independence, choice and inclusion to enable them to live a fulfilled life within the community. Having recently completed Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, I have developed skills in social relationships and social intelligence and empathy. All of my training is currently up to date, such as Safeguarding, Manual Moving and Handling, Administering Medication, Basic Life Support, Dementia care, Parkinson's and various others. My hobbies are shopping, cooking, listening to music and dancing. I also love watching costume and period dramas, athletics, football and Formula 1(F1). I am very much open-minded, flexible and adaptable to different situations and circumstances. I am always keen to learn new skills and take further training and courses for my continuing professional development but more importantly, to help my service user. Aside from the above skills and experience, I can offer companionship, PA and admin work. I can also work nights or twilight shifts starting late. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"4, 5, 3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"4, 5, 3"}

I took voluntary redundancy after 20 years and started running my own business, as well as volunteering as an art therapist at Teesside Hospice. I then went to Australia for 5 years, where I helped a friend with Quadriplegia achieve his objectives and travel around Europe. I came back to the UK in April 2021 and took up a position as a live-in carer in Wiltshire for 18months. After this I became a Personal Assistant and carer for a paraplegic gentleman in Northampton. I'm trained in manual evacuation, sterile changing of dressings, care of suprapubic and lifting and handling. I would now prefer to work within a couple of hours' drive from home in Durham or York. Any client will find me friendly, reliable, honest, and caring. My aim is to care for a person in the same way I would like to be cared for when it's my turn. I have a holistic approach to my work. I can cook meals from around the world but also very happy and able to turn out simple tasty British cuisine. I have my own car and a clean driving licence. My enhanced DBS is up to date, too. My previous clients and their families would be happy to provide references, as would my previous employers. I'm very happy to be considered for emergency relief work if needed. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

TS17 5GJ 210124 I am an adaptable carer, who has a person centred approach to clients, conscientious, kind, caring and compassionate and enthusiastic care assistant with experience in providing a professional care service to the elderly with dementia-early, mid or late stages. Also experienced working with adults suffering from complex needs, mental health issues, and learning disabilities especially autism spectrum. Having an excellent understanding of promoting privacy and dignity whilst enhancing independence and rehabilitation. A proven ability to deal with physically and emotionally demanding care patients and to successfully help them to retain, regain, and develop skills needed for independent living. Below are some of the duties that I have gained in my previous employment as a care assistant. Helping clients with transportation, house cleaning, personal care/support, and maintaining hygiene. Providing care to clients in their own homes and in the community. Liaising with other healthcare professionals such as district nurses and GPs (multi-disciplinary team). Besides working, I enjoy spending time with my family (wife and children), ensuring as a family we engage in activities that helps us grow together and it is very important having that balance between home and work. I like to socialise, meet new people, travelling, going for sports events, especially football and cricket, watching movies and trying something new. I knew that taking that first step, captivating knowledge and skills in the healthcare sector, was very beneficial in transforming the lives of those who work and those who receive support. In 2010, I graduated, obtaining an MSc of Science in Public Health at Anglia Ruskin University. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

DL16 6HQ 26088 I have many years of care in domiciliary and live in. I have always had a passion to care of the elderly, as my grandmother had a care home when I was a young girl. I also took care of my grandmother for many years so feel I have the patience and natural love for them. It is very rewarding when you see how clients react towards you when you get to know them and when you can see they are happy and content in your presence. It's important to get on with your client and to make it a happy place at all times so that your client can feel relaxed and feel safe at all times. Communication is also very important. I have completed E learning and my care certificate, have a full drivers licence. I currently work in a care home but feel my strong points are working one on one with a client either doing waking nights or sleep overs. I have also done live in care for one of my clients 15 miles from my own home. false
