BH15 1RJ 131690 My name is Shanieka, affectionately know to my peers as Sham. I am from the beautiful Caribbean Island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I started caring at home, I had the opportunity to go out and work but I realized I was needed at home. My now 93 years old grandmother is a living testimony of my caring touch. I decided to be the one to care for her everyday needs for over 15 years. Mama as we call her was my inspiration for entering the Nursing profession. I am a very committed individual who loves what I do, which is attending to the needs of my clients. I have over 20 years of experience within the caring role, five of those years was in the hospital setting. I am currently working with one client who is autistic, epilepsy and has mood disorders. I have a duty to care, I am compassionate, dedicated, caring empathetic individual who aspires to grow further in this noble profession. I love cooking, athletics, I am a cricket fan, I enjoy meeting persons of different cultures and I firmly believe in equality. I am willing to offer and dedicated my time in making sure I can make a gigantic difference in someone else's life. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"4, 5","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"4, 5","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"4, 5","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"4, 5","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"4, 5","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"4, 5","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

BH12 5HT 262948 I have worked in Care for 9 years and realised that this is where I find the most joy meeting clients and learning more about them. By doing so, I am able to provide the best experiences for them to enjoy their interests and hobbies, making them feel like they are in control of their day to day choices. My first exposure to Care was when I volunteered a Care Home in Chile where we spent our time assisting with meals, feeding, clearing up, then doing activities such a playing games, knitting, crafts, also manicures for the ladies and nail cutting for the men. This was the deciding point in my life where I realised my passion is to Care for individuals, always trying to make it fun and varied. I am very patient and accommodating, always keeping the next person in mind. Having done all levels of training in the industry, I can utilise those skills to ensure I complete my tasks safely and effectively. I like to approach my Care as if I am caring for my own Mom and Dad, I would do anything to ensure they are well cared for and lack for nothing. I have worked with clients with Alzheimers and Dementia, Parkinsons, Stroke and challenged mobility. I have assisted clients in end of life care and ensured the family was kept informed at all times. In all these cases I work well with third parties, GPs, Physiotherapists, District Nurses, Palliative team, Specialist therapists (speech) My typical day would be ensure my client is assisted with their personal care and is well groomed. I am able to provide a nail cutting services. It is like having a live doll, making sure they look their best, ensuring they have been given the choice of what they would like to wear. I would then prepare any meals, administer medication and ensure there are sufficient drinks so they stay well hydrated through the day. I am more than happy to then complete any home chores, put on the washing, change bedding, hoover, empty bins, and ensure the home is pristine. If I need to leave a snack for later, that will be left ready for when required. If the client is wanting to go out to any activities, or to do some shopping, I have a full clean driving licence and will happily take my client out to their favourite coffee shop for their most enjoyed treats. Before I became a Carer, I worked in Regulation in an office environment, and since I have done Care, it has made me realise how valuable and precious our lives are and to be able to give the next person the opportunity to live their lives their way and to the make it as fulfilling as possible. I love entertaining, cooking and travelling, which is another way to meet people from all walks of life, discover the interesting foods they eat, and just to learn about the history of their country. This has proved beneficial being a Carer because I can always share my travel stories and prepare meals differently to make it all the more interesting. Having "crafternoon" sessions, is another way I enjoy engaging with my clients ensuring they are improving their fine motor skills, it improves their self esteem and will bolster their mood. It is always lovely to have a sense of achievement. I would love to hear from you, so do get in touch. Thank you. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"0","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"0","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":"0"}

I understand that positivity plays a huge part in feeling well, and you will always find me with a smile and a positive attitude. I have great patience, and you should never feel rushed to do something. I understand that it’s more vital for you to achieve something than how long it takes you to do it. I hope we have a shared interest in some of the things I enjoy in life, like the love of cooking, ballet, theatre, sailing, F1 Racing, tennis/ watching & playing, listening to various music, animals, literature, architecture. 0 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"5, 3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"5, 3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"5, 3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"5, 3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"5, 3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"5, 3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"5, 3"}
