Weekend work is no problem as I prefer weekends, and can do overnight live in for Saturdays til Monday morning if needed, but not during the week. At 60 I finished a degree in Animal Sciences, and passed Animal Welfare and Management degree. I enjoy the company, caring and helping rescue, fundraising for good welfare of companion animals abroad. I have worked for Cats Protection with rehoming and home checks, and animal welfare checking. My experience started out as a live-in carer for a spinal injury care company. I also worked for a care agency, where I cared for a girl with disabilities, there was always 2 carers in this role and we took her to school, administered medication and checked blood and ketone levels. Within this agency, I covered many different care homes and agencies across Bristol. I also supported 2 ladies privately, both had a spinal injury, where I supported with personal care, using a catheter, cooking and a lot of driving. I like driving and I am a very careful driver, I can drive an automatic and a manual car. My preference is home care as I love seeing people so relaxed in their own home. I am also a complementary therapist, so naturally, I am a gentle caring person. I love working with all ages, but particularly fond of the elderly. I used to go into a few care homes in Bristol and offer mini treatments, this is at a dementia home and one of my friends who is like a grandma had dementia. I am a fantastic listener too! I am now back living in Dorset and looking forward to caring for people that need support in this area. I have also worked in a residential care home for for two years which has given me experience in more advanced dementia as well. I work only with the elderly and love giving them companionship, taking them out and making their lonely days more enjoyable. I help with all the basic light household duties and personal care where necessary, I have a carer certificate and L2 & L3 equivalent to NVQ’s in Dementia care. Dementia is a devastating diagnosis for any family to receive and I specialise in this area. I am happy to do respite for a few hours in a day if family carer needs a respite so they can have that much needed break to relax or go shopping. I have 15 years of wide range of care experience from being an NHS Health Care Assistant working and needed on different wards, with different conditions as listed. I also worked as live in carer, and respite carer, care companion, caring travel companion, carer/companion for events, occasions, and 12, 24 hours observation after operations in patients' houses. I can do a live in arrangement for 2 weeks maximum at a time. The shortest agreement with me is: 5 CONSECUTIVE hours TOGETHER with out break in one day: Please note, that this means, that I will not do shorter- hourly shifts at any time, so for example, I will not agree to come for 1 hour to " get someone out for bed nor do I come for just 1 hour to "put someone to bed". I Must Emphasize this, because many people asking me this ,and I always say, I only work "shift work, so many hours together. Thank You for Understanding. My aim is that recuperating/after operation clients get stronger and better with my support, become my friends and recommend me to their friends and acquaintances who might also need assistance. I enjoy listening stories of people and getting out for fun events and holidays if applicable, as companionship is the heart of care that I provide with heartfelt love, warmth and tender care. I also believe that being a carer is a calling, I enjoy seeing the difference my TLC makes for my recuperating patients/clients.
