I am 38 years of age and I live in a wee village, just 10 minutes outside of Cupar, Fife. I live here with my husband and numerous rescue animals. We moved up here from Sussex in 2016. I have 2.5 years of past experience in care work, primarily live-in and drop-in care work, down in England. However, caring for others (be they human or nonhuman) is a fundamental aspect of my outlook and is integrated into my everyday life. Thus, I have always thought I would return to care work at some point as it is a logical and natural progression. My past care experience has primarily been live-in care work for clients with conditions such as Parkinson's disease, dementia, visual/physical impairment, and Autism and Down Syndrome. I have also worked in nursing homes and as a drop-in carer. Thus, I have exposure to a wide range of clients and conditions. I am in the process of updating my previous 16 training certificates that I completed a decade ago in various aspects of care. I am open to working with all types of client and conditions. I have a bit of a portfolio career; this currently includes remote teaching on an MSc in animal welfare/ethics, editing work, and independent research into animal welfare/ethics-related topics as well as looking after rescue cats, dogs, and ex-commercial hens at home. In the past, my portfolio career has included teaching drama to children, being a yoga teacher, and most importantly, care work. I am keen once again to add care work to my activities. Caring for and pleasing people comes naturally to me; it would be a pleasure to assist you in your life. Availability: Various part-time options including respite live-in care work (willing to travel as far as nearby cities) and/or approximately 1 to 5 hours per week. I can typically travel up to approximately 10 miles for regular weekly visits (possibly further away if time travelling and petrol costs are covered) and significantly further afield for less frequent visits.
