I have many years of care in domiciliary and live in. I have always had a passion to care of the elderly, as my grandmother had a care home when I was a young girl. I also took care of my grandmother for many years so feel I have the patience and natural love for them. It is very rewarding when you see how clients react towards you when you get to know them and when you can see they are happy and content in your presence. It's important to get on with your client and to make it a happy place at all times so that your client can feel relaxed and feel safe at all times. Communication is also very important. I have completed E learning and my care certificate, have a full drivers licence. I currently work in a care home but feel my strong points are working one on one with a client either doing waking nights or sleep overs. I have also done live in care for one of my clients 15 miles from my own home.
Caring is a profession that has engulfed my family. My mum, aunt, and elder sister are nurses/carer. Therefore, it would not be surprising that I have chosen to continue in this field. Also, my desire for embracing being a Health care Support worker is for the satisfaction derived from affecting people's life. The passion and emotional support for caring for patients is something I grew up with as a child shadowing my mum, aunt and elder sister. It's evident that I have something to give out; thus, I fancy this role as a HSW in this industry. I have built that strong relationship with patients and nurses from my years of working in hospitals, nursing homes etc as a healthcare assistant. It's my goal to put patients first in everything I do, giving them a sense of belonging. I value patients, their families, and staff. Respecting their aspirations and commitments in life is paramount. It's vital that I understand the patient's priorities, limits and abilities; with this, I care for them adequately. I don't compromise the quality of care; this has earned me respect from patients and their families. I compassionately care for patients; I feel their pains, and I don't fail to reassure them consistently. I treat all patients the same without discrimination. Living with my grandmother has also fortified my choice in healthcare. I have been working in hospitals and care homes for years and equipped myself with the necessary required skills to care for adult and young people. I have built my confidence in working under a tight schedule and under pressure. I know healthcare support worker is a stressful job where traumatic situations are frequent, but I have determined to put my dream in front of me. I am obliged to always deliver person-centred care to the patients. Patience is one of the key traits that I hold on to each day. I learnt to communicate clearly and concisely working with adult and young people. Timekeeping is another skill that I learnt working in healthcare. I have learnt to apportion tasks in smaller units and set realistic targets. My communication, timekeeping and organisational skills have also helped me function in a team productively. My tolerance and knowledge derived working in some of the most challenging wards like acute medical units, accident & emergency units and critical care units, put together with all the other skills learnt, make me a stronger support worker. It's beautiful when looking into a patient's eyes and sees the gateway to their soul when only a caring touch or word can make a connection. I like being blessed, and I count my blessings daily for all the patients I have helped gain better health or independence in life. High standard and quality care is what I'm about at all times.
With over 4 years of experience as a Healthcare/Support worker, I am looking to apply my experience more in a setting where my skills and accomplishments can be of benefit. My background corresponds perfectly with the qualifications you seek and with more communication and better understanding of the task, I am certain I would be of great value to you. I work very well independently and as a contributing member of a health care team. My important contributions include working with physicians, nurses, and fellow personal support workers while providing the highest level of patient care possible either in a hospital, Care home or Residential setting. I have all the necessary training and qualifications needed to work in any form of care. As a caring person by nature, I decided to go into care after a few years in the Education and Exams setting. I love providing care and derive great joy in watching my Clients improve in there daily lives. I enjoy Cooking, Cleaning, Dancing, Reading, Travelling, Chatting and playing games. In every organisation or home I have worked, I always get great positive reviews due to my work ethics, my ability to communicate easily with patients, my ability to always lift up there spirits either by dancing or singing while trying to keep them entertained and happy and also my true nature of always showing genuine care. Working with me means I will always put you first and aim to achieve every positive goals and targets you have set for your health and well-being.
Hello I’m Nadia, I’ve worked in care for over 5 years. I was based in a care home where I worked around many different types of conditions a couple of them being dementia & Parkinson’s disease. I also care for my dad who has a brain condition so I have experience in that field too. Over the years I have helped with personal care and providing a safe environment for clients. I love spending time with others and helping them have a better day by carrying out any care needs they may require. I also drive and I’m happy to help with any transportation or days out to help clients have fun filled days with social interaction.
