Within these services, I initiated the need for care support plans to change , to improve support to people being cared for and their carers. My name is Shelley and I started my career in care when I was 17 working in a nursery setting, I achieved my Level 2 in child care and education before moving in to residential care for adolescents aged 12-16 where I achieved my level 3 in social care. From this I moved to elderly care and have been working as a palliative carer for Alzheimer’s and dementia and cancer patients. I have two daughters who are aged 22 and 19 and I am also a young grandmother to two beautiful children. I am very family oriented and enjoy spending time with my family. I enjoy going out for walks in the countryside, cooking various cuisines and listening to music. I am friendly and compassionate and take pride in caring for others. I recently worked privately for a family and I was the main care giver to a husband and wife who both sadly had Alzheimer’s and dementia, I cared for the wife right up to her last days then continued to care for her husband until his passing. The family became an extension of my own family which is what I love about my career path. I am a compassionate and experienced home carer with a passion for helping others. As a female carer with a wealth of experience in providing care to individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment, Parkinson's Disease, bedbound patients, and those coping with anxiety and depression, I am dedicated to ensuring the well-being and comfort of those under my care. With a knack for providing personalized assistance in activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, dressing, catheter care, and emotional support through companionship, I strive to make a positive impact on the lives of my clients.
