DG5 4BS 4459 I live in Dalbeattie and am happy to travel around Dumfries & Galloway for overnight care, and to Ayre, Cumbria and the North East areas for live-in cover. Please note I do not do waking nights. I offer respite live-in and overnight support and holiday and sickness cover for regular carers. I do not do short visits but I'm happy to discuss your needs if longer periods are needed. I'm pet-friendly, very happy to help look after animals and to cook and/or bake, and to help with gardening, cleaning and tidying, or help with personal care - anything you need, just ask! Everyone is unique and has different needs so the rates given are a guide and always include, of course, insurance, DBS check, Curam fees and VAT. I am also sometimes available for Christmas and New Year cover at my standard rates... please just ask. Please note that I am mask exempt and will not be taking any vaccinations. Not having any grandparents I was drawn to older people as a child and would visit older neighbours and help with ironing, tidying around and filling out forms. I was always fascinated by their early life experiences and loved hearing their stories. On leaving school I went into farming, then to University to study Countryside Management, after which I took a few years out to volunteer in my home town, training as an advisor at my local Citizens' Advice Bureau and with the WRVS delivering Meals On Wheels. In 1997 I moved to London and spent an exciting five years as a Transport Planner and then four years in the Lake District National Park Authority as Traffic & Transport Officer. I started a family in 2002. In 2011 I started working for a local community care organisation, had first aid and medication training and quickly became a Senior Carer taking on Out of Hours management and staff rotas. I then spent two years as a Medical Secretary at a GP practice, consolidating my medical knowledge, and left there to spend the past five years looking after my progressively ill mother, who was nursed in bed with a permanent catheter for the last two years of her life. I was her sole advocate, had Power of Attorney for both financial and health & welfare, and managed her personal affairs as well as her care. I enjoy cleaning, organising, cooking and helping people to get the very most out of life in a limiting situation... I have seen both sides of caring: as both a carer and a broker of care packages. I care about timekeeping, doing things properly and providing added value. Rather than be a time-pressured employee of an agency, I relish the opportunity to make meaningful connections with people and develop trusted friendships: this was what I wanted for my mum. I have a current Enhanced Disclosure certificate and in my previous employment as a community carer I completed medication and moving & handling training, but do not have the paperwork to hand at the moment. I am presently learning Italian, renovating my house and building a wildlife garden and pond, and I enjoy 1940s, 1950s music and classical piano. {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"0","field_care_type_first":null,"field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"0","field_care_type_second":null,"field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"0","field_care_type_third":null,"field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"0","field_care_type_fourth":null,"field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"0","field_care_type_fifth":null,"field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"0","field_care_type_sixth":null,"field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"0","field_care_type_seven":null}

CA28 8AW 14386 Dear Prospective Clients, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you. For over twenty years, I've dedicated my life to what I love most—providing care and support to some truly remarkable individuals. My approach is infused with a vibrant personality, a hearty dose of humour, a good measure of common sense, an abundance of love, and exceptional organizational skills, all aimed at ensuring your loved ones receive the highest standard of care. My caregiving journey was ignited by a personal experience of caring for a family member. This profound experience sparked my passion for helping others and illuminated the significant impact that compassionate care can have on someone's life. It was a transformative moment that set me on a path to pursue caregiving as my life's work. As I ventured into this fulfilling career, I was captivated by caregiving's diverse opportunities. This journey of discovery fueled my desire to learn and grow, leading me to develop a deep understanding of the laws and regulations that govern this sector. My adaptability shines through in my ability to work seamlessly independently and as part of a dedicated team. Each new client I meet is a chance for me to make a meaningful difference, and this prospect motivates me to hone my skills and deepen my knowledge continuously. For me, caregiving is more than just a job; it's a calling that allows me to connect with and uplift others profoundly. In my role, I am dedicated to advocating for your loved ones, fostering their independence, and safeguarding their confidentiality, privacy, and dignity. I believe in partnering with them, working 'with' rather than 'to' them, to build relationships based on mutual trust and respect. Although I don't drive, this doesn't hinder my ability to facilitate outings and activities for your loved ones. I am well-versed in public transport and can arrange taxis when needed, ensuring they can enjoy the world beyond their home. The challenges and rewards of caregiving have only strengthened my dedication to this profession. I am relentlessly making a positive difference in the lives of those I care for, and I am always seeking to enhance my skills and knowledge to deliver the best care possible. I hold an Enhanced CRB on the Update Service and am committed to ongoing training, ensuring I am always abreast of the latest best practices in caregiving. My qualifications span a range of areas, including Basic Food Hygiene, Dementia Awareness, Moving and Handling, and Safeguarding & Protection of Adults. I believe in transparent and fair pricing. The rates I offer represent the maximum you would pay for my services, and I am open to discussing your specific needs to tailor my services to fit your budget. I aim to provide exceptional care without causing financial stress. When not caring for others, I enjoy spending time with my family, engaging in music, and baking with my children. My faith as a born-again Christian is a guiding force, inspiring me to approach every interaction with compassion and understanding. I am excited about the possibility of supporting you and your loved ones. Please don't hesitate to reach out to discuss your specific needs and how I can customize my services to meet them. 0 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}
