BH12 5HT 262948 I have worked in Care for 9 years and realised that this is where I find the most joy meeting clients and learning more about them. By doing so, I am able to provide the best experiences for them to enjoy their interests and hobbies, making them feel like they are in control of their day to day choices. My first exposure to Care was when I volunteered a Care Home in Chile where we spent our time assisting with meals, feeding, clearing up, then doing activities such a playing games, knitting, crafts, also manicures for the ladies and nail cutting for the men. This was the deciding point in my life where I realised my passion is to Care for individuals, always trying to make it fun and varied. I am very patient and accommodating, always keeping the next person in mind. Having done all levels of training in the industry, I can utilise those skills to ensure I complete my tasks safely and effectively. I like to approach my Care as if I am caring for my own Mom and Dad, I would do anything to ensure they are well cared for and lack for nothing. I have worked with clients with Alzheimers and Dementia, Parkinsons, Stroke and challenged mobility. I have assisted clients in end of life care and ensured the family was kept informed at all times. In all these cases I work well with third parties, GPs, Physiotherapists, District Nurses, Palliative team, Specialist therapists (speech) My typical day would be ensure my client is assisted with their personal care and is well groomed. I am able to provide a nail cutting services. It is like having a live doll, making sure they look their best, ensuring they have been given the choice of what they would like to wear. I would then prepare any meals, administer medication and ensure there are sufficient drinks so they stay well hydrated through the day. I am more than happy to then complete any home chores, put on the washing, change bedding, hoover, empty bins, and ensure the home is pristine. If I need to leave a snack for later, that will be left ready for when required. If the client is wanting to go out to any activities, or to do some shopping, I have a full clean driving licence and will happily take my client out to their favourite coffee shop for their most enjoyed treats. Before I became a Carer, I worked in Regulation in an office environment, and since I have done Care, it has made me realise how valuable and precious our lives are and to be able to give the next person the opportunity to live their lives their way and to the make it as fulfilling as possible. I love entertaining, cooking and travelling, which is another way to meet people from all walks of life, discover the interesting foods they eat, and just to learn about the history of their country. This has proved beneficial being a Carer because I can always share my travel stories and prepare meals differently to make it all the more interesting. Having "crafternoon" sessions, is another way I enjoy engaging with my clients ensuring they are improving their fine motor skills, it improves their self esteem and will bolster their mood. It is always lovely to have a sense of achievement. I would love to hear from you, so do get in touch. Thank you. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

BH15 1RJ 131690 My name is Shanieka, affectionately know to my peers as Sham. I am from the beautiful Caribbean Island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I started caring at home, I had the opportunity to go out and work but I realized I was needed at home. My now 93 years old grandmother is a living testimony of my caring touch. I decided to be the one to care for her everyday needs for over 15 years. Mama as we call her was my inspiration for entering the Nursing profession. I am a very committed individual who loves what I do, which is attending to the needs of my clients. I have over 20 years of experience within the caring role, five of those years was in the hospital setting. I am currently working with one client who is autistic, epilepsy and has mood disorders. I have a duty to care, I am compassionate, dedicated, caring empathetic individual who aspires to grow further in this noble profession. I love cooking, athletics, I am a cricket fan, I enjoy meeting persons of different cultures and I firmly believe in equality. I am willing to offer and dedicated my time in making sure I can make a gigantic difference in someone else's life. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

BH15 1RJ 131688 Hi my name is Karlene but usually my colleagues call me Kay. I am from the lovely sunny island of Trinidad and Tobago. I have been in the health care profession for over 20 years. I’ve worked in the hospital and this is where I gained most of my knowledge, training and experience and this is where my passion and motivation grew tremendously in caring for others. I have always taken caring very seriously and as such have devoted myself not only to ensure the health of the patient but also their happiness. I believe all clients should be treated equally with respect and dignity. I am a jovial, empathetic and devoted individual who takes my clients needs very passionately and it gives me comfort knowing my clients are contented. I’m currently working one to one with a young client with autism and learning disabilities, I am always willing to broaden my spectrum and further my career in the health care profession. I am fully vaccinated . BH10 4EQ 132718 INTRODUCTION Making someone feel more comfortable, listened to and not ignored is my goal. Working as a senior carer for 10years, I am passionate about supporting, empowering and enabling people that have been challenged with various conditions, such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Dementia and Autism. I am friendly, hardworking and a good communicator. EXPERIENCE I have worked with people who had various mental health disorders such as Dementia, Bipolar - Anxiety and depression and I am familiar with some of their symptoms and some of their treatment methods at my level. For example in my previous workplace, I supported clients with Alzheimer's Dementia, helping them overcome sun downing experiences, supporting them through anxiety attacks, and develop new positive habits and coping mechanisms. When the client had intrusive thoughts, I encouraged them to positively distract their thoughts and engage in good hobbies like music,simple art tasks and taking walks. This really helped my clients feel more hopeful and less isolated as they had someone to confide in about their problems as well. I have also provided Palliative care, working alongside team members such as Doctors ,nurses, family members with respite care. On the other hand I have provided personal grooming, toileting, cooking and any administrative tasks which need support. CARE I love supporting other people and making a difference in their lives. I have always had a great interest in supporting, empowering and enabling people be independent in their own homes. I am trained as an Enrolled Psychiatric Nurse in my country of origin in Zambia in 1978 and with mental practice degree obtained at Gloucestershire University has given me great confidence in supporting clients with complex needs. HOBBIES I am a good cook, and love trying new recipes. I like travelling and meeting new people. BH14 9LY 174734 Caring is second nature to me.. I have been in challenging situations and am calm and resourceful and always patients with my clients. I have 4.5 years of experience as second lead in a SEN base in a secondary school in London. so I feel very comfortable and equipped to support children/young people on the Autism spectrum, or with Asperger's and ADHD. I supported students with behaviour and social interactions as well as with their school work and ran meetings with parents and external agencies. I ran small group interventions and worked with students 1:1 in areas they needed more support. I developed great relationships with the parents and this had incredible results on the child. I also ran restorative practice sessions to resolve conflict between students and/or students and staff. I have a background in Yoga with children teens/adults, Life coaching, massage, cooking and being a PA. This set of skills combined with being patient, kind, easy to get on with and not easily frazzled makes me a solid, resourceful and reliable support worker. I also have 3 years experience in care for the elderly and care for a person with physical disabilities. I am happy to discuss rates relative to hours and level of support and whether you want me to integrate Yoga or my special needs skills and experience. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}
