"I started my career in 2008 as a student as well as placement in a residential home after qualifying for NVQ L2 in Health and Social. I was offered a job in the same home where I worked for 2 years and then worked as a live-in carer for 2 years after which I worked in the community looking after clients with autism and spinal injury for 4 years. I joined NHSP in 2017 after qualifying L3 in Health and Social where I work in different wards, for example, Dementia, stroke, and spinal. In all these wards I support patients with their daily needs promoting independence respecting their values and promoting dignity and diversity, managing commodes, bedpans, catheters, stoma bags, pressure sores areas, blood pressure observations, blood sugars, peg feed, I also worked in the NHS Trust for 11 months where I resigned to remain in the NHSP Banking up to date. I like communicating with patients, create activities, and supporting them to achieve their goals."

"I believe that health and wellbeing play a role in people 's lives therefore I have always admired people that work in health industry. Growing up as a child I used see my mother taking care of my grandmother as she was getting old and she couldn't support herself. I really appreciated my mother so much because this is where I learned to care for other people in need. I grew up in Zimbabwe, In 2007 I moved to South Africa where I got a job as a carer working privately looking after a lady in her 50s, she had kidney failure. I used to take her to Dialysis 3 times a week and other hospital appointments. I used to do all household chores as well as personal care, I worked for the family for 5years until she passed away that was the reason for leaving. In 2016 I moved to the UK to settle with my family and take time out to decide on my career plan, I realised that my passion lies in helping others. I got a job in 2016 August doing home care, looking after elderly clients in their own homes. Duties included : shopping, personal care, hospital appointments, administering medication, feeding, hoisting, cooking and many more duties. Because my passion is to help people with different age groups and different needs, I decided to look for a job elsewhere but still in the caring industry. I wanted to gain more experience and expand my knowledge in the caring industry. I worked for an agency, where I worked in different nursing homes, I must say I loved it as I gained my confidence and wider knowledge. The job was challenging but I really enjoyed it as it made me stronger and a better carer. 2017 I got a job where I’m currently working and it’s still in care, I do work as a support worker. I look after people with learning disabilities with different age groups, I really enjoy it, duties include : personal care, shopping and day to day activities, administering medication and cooking. I love cooking and in my culture we get taught how to cook when we are young so cooking is not an issue my husband is English so I can cook English food and African meals. I have also started preparing to go to university next year to study nursing. It was always my dream to be a qualified nurse so that I can expand my knowledge in health care industry, and I am also willing to learn new things During my spare time, I enjoy socialising with my friends, eating out and going to the cinema. Going out with my friends allows me an opportunity to make new friends and meet new people. As a sociable person I would relish the chance to utilise these skills in a professional context. I have experience of working with clients that have had catheters and stoma's fitted, this has been learned on the job no formal qualifications have been achieved."

"I enjoyed looking after my grandmother when I was young because I loved to listen to her own amazing bedtime tales which made me very happy and after she died I still wanted to carry on helping elderly people when I travel to Europe after my Education. I got myself some basic jobs but later realised it wasn't for me so I started working in Care a home for 7yrs, trained for professional Care skills including NVQ Level 2. Then shifted to do Live In Care which allowed me to care for one or 2 persons at a time. My ability to communicate effectively often put smiles on the clients face easily whilst doing my daily duties. I also apply a Person Centred Approach to my work which makes it easier to build a friendly relationship with my clients and the fact that they keep recommending me is a sign that I may be doing something good. I hope to meet someone who would need my help with adequate Care and see how we can get on very well. "
