For over ten years I worked as a support worker for my local social services . This job required a number of key skills e.g. keeping financial records, up-to-date diary records, ensuring health and safety in the work place, dispensing of medicines and supporting individuals with various disabilities in their home. This was a full time post. Were I gained many new skills including moving and handling. Also assisting the individual with their everyday needs and activities whether that was attending a medical appointment or just getting out for exercise and a change of scenery.
