"Independent, passionate in my role and a forward thinker I work well independently and in a team. In 2014 I moved over to a home healthcare company from another company, this was due to my client at the time making a decision to move to a alternative healthcare provider. I continued working with the same client from that date to present. All of my roles and responsibilities remain the same to date. Support worker/care co-ordinator. I was introduced to my first client at Southport rehabilitation spinal, they required 24 hour care, and had very complex care needs. I received all of my training here and was then confident and ready to care for my client at home within the community. My main duties included: Tracheostomy care (complete Trachy change and stoma care), ventilator care, Stoma care, providing in via PEG feed tube/NG tube, bowel care (manual evacuation), bladder care (supra pubic catheter, intermittent, catheter and urethral), Ileostomy and colostomy care. I also held the role of a “rapid response” Carer. This involved being on call and available to go to any of the clients in the central Birmingham area, each client having many individual needs, some of which are: spinal, muscular, multiple sclerosis and spinal injuries."
