Hello My name is Natalie, I'm 32 years old. I'm originally from London and now reside in South Wales. I have been a carer for 13 years. I first started providing private care when my nan fell ill, I was her main carer, I enjoyed it very much and my nan encouraged me to sign up with an agency. Since then, I have worked for numerous domiciliary agencies, nursing homes, residential homes, mental health homes, in schools and live-in companies. Throughout the years, I have experience with personal care, moving and handling, washing and dressing, changing pads, using health-care equipment, emptying catheters and attaching catheters to the night bags, prompting and administrating medications (tablets and liquids), companionship, cooking fresh meals and light cleaning. Prompting and feeding meals and prompting to drink fluids throughout the day. Also, going out with my clients, accompanying them to the doctors and hospital appointments. Doing their general shopping and run errands for my clients like picking up medications from the pharmacy. I have experience with clients who have suffered from dementia, cancer and clients with challenging behaviour. I've also provided care for clients who had parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis(MS), brain disease, bed-bound patients, end of life and palliative care. I love my role as a carer and I understand my duties. I work with people who rely on me for full or additional support. I don't see myself doing anything else. I do enjoy listening to my clients life stories - growing up, how they lived and all their amazing stories. I am confident in my role as a carer and I know each client is different. I hope with all my experience you will accept me as your carer. In my own time I enjoy walking and taking in the local scenery. I am a Born Again Christian - when I'm not working my husband and I do God's work.
With over ten years of extensive care experience, beginning my journey in 2015 as a live-in carer, I am confident in my ability to provide compassionate and dedicated support to those in need. Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse settings, including supported living, with young people in care, psychiatric hospitals, and various live-in care roles. My passion lies in working with the elderly in their homes, where I thrive in promoting their independence and enhancing their overall quality of life. My responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, from assisting with day-to-day activities, meal planning, and preparation of healthy meals to grocery shopping and managing household affairs. I take pride in maintaining strong social connections for my clients, advocating for their needs with other professionals, and ensuring their care plans are individually tailored to promote their health and well-being. Respecting privacy and dignity is paramount to me, reflected in my approach to personal care and ensuring homes are secure and free from harm. I consistently update care plans and risk assessments, perform light housekeeping to minimize risks, and prioritize ongoing professional development to stay current in the field. Understanding the importance of manual handling, I am committed to supporting clients in achieving their goals and independence within the community. My adept communication skills enable me to connect with clients on both physical and emotional levels, fostering a supportive and trusting environment. As a night worker, I recognize the significance of maintaining a safe home environment, conducting thorough checks, and providing timely support when needed. I am meticulous in report writing and efficient in sharing relevant information during handovers. Moreover, I am well-versed in confidentiality practices, equality principles, and the importance of respecting the individuality and choices of each client. On my weeks off from live-in care rotations, I am open to considering sleeping nights, providing additional support for those in need. One of my passions is travel, and I am excited about the prospect of combining caregiving with being a travel companion. I am open to any live-in care position with varying rotas, adapting to the unique needs and wishes of each client. In terms of travel costs, I kindly request the client to cover the return train journey. Furthermore, for daily breaks during live-in care placements, I am flexible with what the client can offer. Whether it's daily breaks or consolidated breaks taken when convenient for the client, I am adaptable to ensure a harmonious caregiving experience. I am confident that my skills and dedication align with the values of health & social care of this country, and I am eager to contribute to the well-being of those under my care.
