I am an experienced and hardworking Healthcare Assistant, whose been working in healthcare sector since November 2006. Having worked in various organisations, ranging from NHS Hospitals, Residential Care Homes, Nursing Homes, Community Support worker. I have gained vast knowledge of care legislation including good practice and health safety standards. Experience in the care of young people, Adults, Elderly with dementia/mental health conditions, administration of medicine, meal preparation, record keeping in which has equipped me with sufficient expertise and competence to work as a confident Care Assistant. Am looking for an opportunity to work as self employed Carer.
Hello, My name is Beverley and I have 10 years’ experience working in the care industry either as a Healthcare Assistant in the NHS on a surgical ward, or as a Live-in Carer. I have also done hourly and overnight care work as well. I am a kind, considerate and empathetic person and I really do enjoy my work and I absolutely love meeting new people. I am experienced with working with clients who are living with conditions such as; early onset dementia to the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s or Vascular Disease, also neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s, arthritis and mobility issues, fibromyalgia, stroke and mental health conditions such as psychosis. I do manual handling and have used various hoists and other mobility pieces of equipment such as wheelchairs and Sara Stedy. I am more than comfortable working with members of the Community Team such as GP’s and District Nurses and Paramedics, and as I have a full, clean driving license, I am more than happy taking you to your GP, Clinic and Hospital appointments as required. This also includes taking you to meet your friends socially, as appropriate. I am experienced in all aspects of personal care. I can assist with hygiene, toileting, showering, bathing, dressing, grooming, assisting with eating, cooking, household duties and administrative tasks. I am also proficient in administering medication from bottles, original packaging or Dosset boxes. Why did I become a Carer? I have always known that I wanted to work in the nursing sector and working in the community as a Live-in Care is where I am happiest. My hobbies include; following current affairs, watching history documentaries and science fiction and science fact programmes. I am happy listening to them too. I enjoy playing card games, dominoes, or puzzles. I like watching some sports, especially Formula 1. I enjoy cooking and going for walks anywhere, and enjoy new sights and sounds. I hope I have the pleasure of meeting you soon.
I have been a carer for over 3 years. I am kind, hardworking and a good communicator. I am patient, a good listener and enjoy working closely with others - especially older people. I am friendly, chatty and hard working. You will be impressed with my hard-working nature, the high standards I set myself, and also my commitment to the quality of care.
I am a caring friendly person, I know and empathise with how it feels when you lose your independence and your health declines, it’s not easy and you would rather do things for yourself but unfortunately you have to rely on others. I think if I do care for people now then later on in life when it will be my turn to be looked after I’ll have kind, nice carers. It’s not easy to find carers who care .Loneliness is hard and it makes a difference to have someone to talk to to share things with to be able to socialise, your health may be declined but you are still living and you want to enjoy life, activities and to socialise. I believe that for families it’s very important to find someone you can trust, building trust is paramount with client and families, no one wants to have a different carer everyday of the week, they wouldn’t know how to look after you. It takes time and it’s not easy to let new people in your life so finding a trustworthy carer is crucial. One day we all will need care, so when I do the job I try to do it how I wish someone will do it for me. It has to be a person centered and unique to your needs, likes and dislikes. I will be there to support you mentally and physically. I care and I take pride in my job. I always work with client and families to provide outstanding care. I have worked with elderly and with people with learning disabilities and I have the experience to do a great job but I am also keen to learn and adapt to clients support needs, I am hard working and reliable and mostly caring .
