Thank you for reading my profile. As a carer I have been supporting both client and family to allow their loved one to stay at home offering respite and hands on care duties getting to know the needs and what can make a difference to supporting someone is always about gaining trust, being a helping hand, being reliable and most of all compassionate and a good listener, a sense of humour, and friendly. I have supported many clients and families to support and care for early mid and later stages in dementia or simply just daily care. As a caregiver and support worker. I thrive on making a difference. I enjoy cooking, personal care, and being a caring helping hand using dignity common sense, compassion, and respect at all times to promote independence when possible. I have covered care modules relating to person centred learning and the Ageing Process. I have had my covid injections and booster. Excellent references and up to date enhanced DBS certified. Please contact me directly, and I will get back to you swiftly. I am mobile and very punctual and also reliable. Please see my current reviews.
Having obtained a Master's degree in business intelligence and social media with distinction, I am in the final stage of my PhD study in management science at Lancaster University. Yet, I am dedicated to delivering high-quality care to vulnerable people in our society, thus helping them to achieve independence while maintaining their dignity. My experience cuts across the NHS, private and public care settings where I have developed professionalism over the years. I am well-determined to deliver high-quality care and facilitate organisational objectives by upholding best practices through innovative, strategic approaches and continuous development. My academic and professional experience in the charity and healthcare industries has given me a high sense of compliance with the ability to work under pressure with or without supervision while paying rapid attention to service users'/ patients' person-centred complex care needs. My essential services include but are not limited to washing and dressing patients, assisting with dietary needs and helping to feed patients, helping with mobility, oral care, stoma care, catheter care, monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations, weight and administering medications.
I am patient and empathetic with an extensive background in care gained during my time as a home care worker and SEN support worker. I am caring and understanding and love to help people. I relish a career where I feel I can improve people’s lives. I have a good sense of humour and believe that laughing is the best medicine. I previously worked as a teacher for many years before realising I got much more satisfaction from the pastoral and care side so I moved to an SEN school where I worked with students with autism ADHD and EBD. From there I went into domiciliary care and loved it. I did my first aid training, manual handling training and many other courses. I currently work in a residential home and have continued my CPD I have a care certificate, I have completed my medication training and I am currently studying for a level 3 in adult social care. I care very much for vulnerable people and go out of my way to make sure I offer outstanding care. I am often commended on the care I give. Along with cares, I do the cooking at the residential home. I make healthy and nutritious food for a variety of diets including diabetic and soft food. I am happy to help out with general house duties, cooking shopping, pet care and I can take clients out wherever they want as I have car business insurance. I have worked in care with individuals with many conditions including dementia and I have developed a good understanding of the emotional needs and the concerns that come with being afraid and vulnerable due to this condition. I have witnessed the emotional effect it has on families and loved ones, and I have complete empathy and understanding of the process having had personal experience when my Nan developed advanced dementia; I was with her from the start, sharing her fears, but we still laughed a lot. The love was still there between us & the experience has helped me to understand the different stages the individual and their loved ones go through. I understand how frightening it can all be, but I also know that there are still many happy times to be had and that with a positive outlook and the right care, life will go on. I have an enhanced DBS, liability insurance and I have business insurance on my car so I am able to take clients out. I thoroughly enjoy care work, offering support to the elderly and their families, and look forward to being able to offer support on the Curram platform. Skills • Excellent time management skills • Calm under pressure • Caring • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Effective problem solver • Empathetic • Adherence to high care service standards • Team Player My hobbies include music, visiting the theater, bird watching, cooking, baking and doing puzzles. I love visiting garden centers and going for walks in the Lake District.
I am an NMC registered adult nurse with 3.5 years of post registration experience. Though still very new in nursing I have experience of working in acute medicine, elderly mentally infirm patients and various bank shifts across the trust. I have an excellent relationship with the wider multi disciplinary team including consultants, GPs, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, discharge coordinators and district nurses. For example, nursing a deteriorating patient in a nursing home setting where there was no core drugs and no preferred priority of care. I was able to liaise with the GP and arrange emergency core drugs and arrange for preferred priority to be put in place meaning the patient passed peacefully in there current setting. I have excellent communication skills including extremely busy and demanding environments, patients with communication difficulties and patients from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds. For example when nursing a young patient with brain stem death, awaiting the transplant team I was able to support the patients parents throughout the process, helping them to find accommodation and keeping them updated via regular phone conversation. I received a card thanking me for my empathy and compassion as well as a letter from the transplant team thanking me for all of my help. I also ensure all written communication is clear, accurate and professional. I actively promote the health and well being of clients offering advice where possible and signposting or referring patients to other services where needed. I aim to always maintain holistic care and understand nursing is not only about the physical condition of a client , but the need for treating each client as an individual, supporting clinical governance in safe, effective and person centred care. I am commited to continuing professional development and have attended courses and study days relevant to my role. For example, with a shortage of learning disability nurses I attended an NHS lead course on communication, struggles patients with learning disabilities can face when in hospital and changes that could be made to help support the learning disability community. I always ensure mandatory training is up to date and I use online resources to keep informed of nursing initiatives. I am a very positive person and I have a positive attitude which enables me to build good relationships with clients , relatives and colleagues. I am a compassionate person and pride myself on being empathetic and understanding with my clients.
