I am a Nurse with 17 years experience, currently not able to practise as it has been 3 years since my training has been accessed therefore I have been working as a Carer for the past 3 years due to an injury I sustained on my lower back and can no longer withstand the 13hr shifts as a Nurse. My background is general nursing, e.g respiratory, surgical,palliative care, catheter care, incontinence etc. I love water aerobics, reading, and I love cooking, very happy person and love to make people happy. I take great interest in the well being of my clients and what makes them happy. Also my wide experience as a nurse has given me much confidence, attention to detail which I believe I possess and use to my advantage to deliver excellent and quality care to my client's. When on assignment I prefer to take my own food to work and I can also prepare basic meals for my client. I’m also able to engage with other multi-disciplines e.g physio, GP etc to plan/take my clients to various appointments /other leisure activities using the patient’s car as long as it’s insured for me to drive as my car’s insurance is personal and not Business or other means provided or go for walks if the client is mobile and not at risk of falling. I also prefer to have my 2 hours break every shift. Bank holiday is double time/pay. Generally I like to keep my clients entertained by engaging them in doing things that they like and enjoy to do like knitting, board games, gardening, letting them choose and participate in planning their meals if they are able to and generally whatever makes them occupied and happy.
