I am registered as a domiciliary Carer with a Social Care organisation to whom I am accountable and continuously update my training. I have all of the Mandatory Certificates which qualify me as a registered Carer. I do have a Bachelor of Arts degree and I majored in Psychology and read English Literature and Philosophy. I have also had experience in End of Life Care and I have found that my insight and understanding of psychology assists me to be supportive of clients and families during this stage of life. I have also worked with clients with late or advanced stage of dementia who are nonverbal as well as clients with neurological conditions that impede their ability to coordinate and communicate. I have also had companionship roles and have supported clients who are post operative. I enjoy caring, take pride in my work and find my role as Carer to be rewarding. I have been privileged to work in placements which required me to prepare meals for Lords, Ladies and Countesses. I have knowledge and understanding of etiquette and have been told that I have a good command of the English language. My hobbies include reading (mainly classic literature, history and I appreciate poetry), playing the piano, enjoying scenic walks and collecting postcards. I am a fitness enthusiast and also cycle, swim and run. I have done triathlons and half marathons and a marathon. I can also play tennis, squash, hockey and golf. I am a peaceful, even tempered and positive person with a happy, outgoing disposition. I appreciate the importance of “person centred care” in that a person should be allowed to live as they choose in their own homes and retain their uniqueness.
