This proved imperative, and I am so glad I took the steps to be close to her as during this time she was diagnosed with Dementia and Parkinson's. I came into Care work rather late in life, after many years in Sales and Marketing and 14 years working in Insolvency. This was due to a family member who was sadly diagnosed with Cancer. I made the decision to work part time which enabled me to care for this family member. It was the most rewarding, satisfying and worthwhile time I had spent in my life. I clearly had missed my vocation. After working as a Carer privately, I decided to work for a EDS Domiciliary Care in Derbyshire, this was to secure my future in this industry, but more importantly to get the professional qualifications I needed to improve and move forward. I have worked in domiciliary care visiting people in their homes, overnight stays to ensure the safety and well being of the individual. I am proud to say that I am experienced in all aspects of care, with emphasis on Dementia, Parkinson's, Mobility issues, and Mental Health. I am also experienced in using hoists etc, personal hygiene and the safe administration of Medication. Personally, I love all kinds of Music (except rap) my friend once said after listening to it, "isn't it missing a C." ? I play the keyboard and sing, I was in a band for 5 years and loved every minute of it. I also follow Football, Rugby and Cricket. Cooking is also a passion of mine. I love animals and nature, I have had 3 dogs in my life who have always been special to me ,life's best companions, and currently have a ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, called Alfie. To be sustainable in this industry you have to be a naturally caring person, I'm proud to say I have always been a natural carer, even as a child I was always looking after my siblings (so Mum said.) Motto " Its nice to be important, but more important to be nice" I have also found that going that extra mile when people are feeling down or anxious is so worthwhile, its amazing how a fresh bunch of flowers can change a persons demeanour. Should you wish to know any further details please do not hesitate to contact me. References from my patients are available on request direct by email. Here's to a much better and healthier 2022. I am double vaccinated plus booster and have a solid understanding of PPE use and infection control, I also take regular flow tests. Kind Regards Chris

Our Dad has parkinson's and gets around in a wheelchair, with a family wedding organised and knowing our Mum wouldn't be able to cope, our help would be like petrol on a fire, we needed help and that's where Chris came in. He looked after my Dad all day, from home, taxi, church, taxi, kenwood, taxi home, manoeuvring my Dad about for photos, looking after his personal care and well being. Chris blended in with the wedding party, he went above and beyond, allowing us all to enjoy the day. Thanks.

Chris has been attending and caring for our father for two months now. His work has revolutionised his care and we couldn't be happier with the results. Chris undertakes a number of activities for our father including attending to the garden, personal care such as haircuts etc, providing meals and taking him to the local pub! He has built a tremendous rapport with his patient and provides us with great peace of mind. Chris has such a lovely and caring manner and is highly recommended.
