Client groups I’ve worked with include people who have had a stroke, people with Parkinson’s, MND, Huntingdon's and dementia. I also have worked in an intensive neuro rehab unit. I have worked in busy acute hospitals, in community hospitals, and in people’s own homes. I am keen to get back to community work, as I enjoy the continuity of care and the opportunity to really get to know my clients. I am used to working autonomously and value being part of a team. I am hard-working, dependable & have excellent organisational skills, as evidenced by my ability to hold a busy caseload and to manage my time effectively. I have completed various training courses, including in specialist dementia care; I am also trained in the provision of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy. I have a level 2 qualification in counselling skills and have attended courses in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Neurolinguistic Programming and Mindfulness. I have attended courses by Connect including, “Meeting the Challenges of Severe Aphasia” and, “The Good Goal Setting Guide”. I also have trained in the delivery of standardised Therapy Outcome Measures. I am used to working under pressure & able to maintain a professional manner that is person-centred and upholds values of integrity and confidentiality. My passion is in working with people -and I have excellent references that are testimony to this. I also have considerable experience of developing & delivering training in a clinical setting, including supervision of students and peers. I’m looking for work that draws on & develops my current skills base, which also involves continuing to work closely with clients.
