These aspects are important in understanding the individual, respecting them, and incorporating them into their care plan. I treat each person I support with dignity. This includes communicating with them in a respectful way, listening to them. I'm what they say and taking it on board. I also thrive in maintaining their dignity to avoid embarrassment or shaming. I take time to understand their life experiences, their present state, and their future goals. This will help me gain a deeper understanding of the individual I am supporting and allow me to tailor their care needs. I also give the individual I am supporting responsibility to help them perform as many everyday activities as they can. I do encourage this approach bot push. I believe no one person can do it alone. Hence, I adhere to coordination of care working with other professionals, family, and friends. Having been in the care sector for over 20 years and combined with growing up with a brother born with cerebral palsy has given me vast experience, skills, and tools to do my my job.
