After working for many years as health care assistant at the nursing home and hospitals, I decided to broaden my horizons within the living in social care sector. I now work as a self-employed live-in carer for 5 yrs. I work in a person-centred way with a broad range of clients and conditions, including: dementia, Parkinson's, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental illness, palliative care and end of life care. I provide practical and emotional support to help people live a safe and independent life in their own home and community. This includes medication administration, personal care, continence care, moving and handling using hoists and other aids, cooking, cleaning and of course companionship. I am also happy to support clients to go on holiday at home.I have an NVQ2 and NVQ3 in social care, as well as a care certificate. I am fully vaccinated, including boosters. My preferred employment type is self employed live-in care. Note: My rate includes fare and food and it's negotiable also. Can do 1 week on 1 week off/2 weeks on 2 weeks off/10 days on 4 days off.
