I began work in residential services for adults with complex learning and physical disabilities, from here I have worked with agencies to increase knowledge and skillsets and have worked in almost every area of the care and support arena. I also enjoy working with specialist services providing support to children with profound multiple learning disabilities and services for adults & young adults (18+) who have complex needs including epilepsy, ASD, profound multiple learning disabilities and those who present challenging behaviours. I have proven to be a reliable, consistent and popular care worker-with many services (and the people I support) requesting me specifically by name from the Agencies I have worked for. I have a calm, and confident nature quick to build a friendly rapport with the people I support, and the staff I work with. I have worked with a variety of services through Healthcare agencies ,and has consistently worked within specialist services supporting children, young adults and adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs such as schizophrenia. I have good experience with, and entirely comfortable with, all levels of personal care (male and female), medication administrations (which includes rescue medications), the use of moving & handling techniques & equipment, de-escalation techniques and positively handling highly challenging behaviours. I have proven time and again to be a valuable asset to any team or care/support service. I am passionate and enthusiastic about work and the level of care I provide is of the highest level. I pride myself in my knowledge and abilities and I am always seeking new opportunities and training to continue advancing in my care career.
