I started working as a healthcare assistant as a part time job. What started as a part job is now a passion of mine. I have worked in various fields from learning disability, dementia to challenging behaviour. Below are some of my duties and responsibilities I have encountered working in the industry I believe working in the healthcare industry with a diverse group of people has helped me to develop as a person and acquire new skills My communication, decision –making and supervision skills have also been sharpened. Furthermore, l am able to use appropriate evaluation technique /tools to assess the effectiveness of patients’ care in order to offer high quality patient care. Given my extensive training and in the health sector I can say I possess I an increased knowledge in health promotion. Over the years, l have developed inter personal skills through involvement of patients, carers and families appropriately in aspects of care provided. I also ensure that care provided recognizes patients’ personal needs, rights and choices. Involving patients and cares in this way assist in facilitating the growth of the therapeutic relationships and empowers them in many respects.
