I have cared for people with a variety of needs over the years including, dementia, multiple sclerosis, spinal muscular atrophy, acquired brain injury and elderly care. I loved having the opportunity to work in different settings and with wonderful people. my last role was caring full time for a young lady with spinal muscular atrophy at home, I worked for her for 9 years until she passed away. Some of my duties included personal care, hoisting using a special hoist system, bathing, dressing, hair styling, facials, manicures, trips to cinema/theatre/pub/holidays, admin, booking/attending hospital appointments, walking and feeding her pet dog. I really enjoy working in the care industry and would love the opportunity to find a new role in a home setting where I can help someone to live as independently and confidently as possible.
