I assisted my grandmother with personal care during school holidays and this gave me experience in caring for others. I have a passion to care for other people and my joy comes from knowing that at least in each and every given day I make a difference in someone's life. I have three years working in the care environment. My role as a care assistant is to provide emotional and physical support for the vulnerable and frail people, and my duties include: • Assisting clients with personal care such as washing, dressing, feeding and toileting. • Assist with safe lifting, transferring, and repositioning. • Observe, monitor, and record client’s physical and emotional well-being, and report to senior staff. Currently I work as a Care assistant at a care home, reablement centres, residential homes and respite. A role that I take seriously because I look after vulnerable elderly people. Through my working experience, I realise that I have a passion to care for other people. I have worked alongside nurses and learned a lot from them, the way how they conduct themselves and carry out their duties. I assist the nurses on duty to take client’s blood pressure, weight and cream application. I am a good team player, I communicate well with others as well listening and taking observations and I believe in person-centred care. . I am determined and wishes to build on my existing experiences and knowledge of healthcare. In addition, I am a reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic person and I am confident that I have the qualities needed to successfully become a part of this esteemed organisation.
