I consider myself to be a self-assured and compassionate individual. I am a carer who is patient, with empathy and dedicated in my job, I believe that l am suited to this career. Having studied mental health and wellbeing helped me to understand human behaviour which is key when exploring the health patterns and communicating information to the society and within the department. Working with the NHS professionals as a health support worker in mental health, I have worked under supervision and collaboratively with other multi-disciplinary team members such as nurses and Doctors. This has enhanced my teamwork skills. Seeing how other professionals are involved and how they work together to promote health has inspired to work as a mental health support worker. I have gained good skills that have improved my confidence . Working with learning disabilities, l was given a task to be a key worker and do care plans for the service user. Being a key worker gave me the opportunity to see that the service user was able to have everything of their choice, book holidays for them, purchase all personal needs, being accountable for their finances etc. I have experience of looking after clients in their own home and responsible for all their daily needs and personal care. As a person who is compassionate and full of empathy l have been able to work well as a support worker taking care of mentally ill patients and these skills l want to continue to do my job. I have the role of maintaining patients confidentiality, listening attentively to their concerns enabling me to provide for their needs and quality of care as well as seeking support from others in need be thus improving my communication and interpersonal skills. I have done live-in jobs working on my own doing all the daily tasks on my own. In my daily work l aim to help with their daily routine observing conditions and reporting and giving feedback to the multi-disciplinary teams. Such interactions with my patients have affirmed my determination to work and reach out to the public. As a caring person l understand that everyone should be treated equally regardless of the age, gender or ethnicity. I have 23 yrs experience in the care industry and have more experience
