I successfully supported two clients with dementia in maintaining their independence at home. Additionally, I worked with a client who had myeloma cancer, assisting her with daily tasks such as preparing meals, administering medication, and changing her clothes. As she was unable to move, I provided full care, treating her with the gentleness and attention she needed, as she was very delicate.
I also cared for my friend’s mum, who had cancer, providing both day and night care. This included feeding her, administering medication, managing her pain control, and helping with clothing changes. Through these experiences, I have gained extensive knowledge and confidence in supporting cancer patients.
I am well-versed in coordinating with nurses, doctors, and managing hospital appointments. I have taken patients to their medical appointments, liaised with healthcare professionals, and ensured their care plans were followed. I am confident in providing compassionate and thorough care for individuals with complex health needs.
In addition, I have worked at two medical surgeries, where I consistently prioritised patient care and ensured positive outcomes. My voluntary work with the British Heart Foundation further strengthened my people skills, as I took ownership of charity fundraising activities and built strong relationships with the community.
With a range of patient care experience and a genuine passion for helping others, I am motivated to develop a professional career in the care field and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
