My approach to care is rooted in getting to know my clients and their unique interests, hobbies and preferences, so I can help them live a fulfilling life.
I served my most recent client as a live in carer. He is a 91 year old British male whom I went on to build a family-like relationship. Our routine was quite a simple but detailed one.
- We typically wake up at about 7:30am
- I get him out of bed
- Assist him in brushing his teeth,
- Assist him with shaving and trimming
- Prepare a warm shower and assist him to get a shower
- Dry him up and apply various creams to the right parts as he sometimes have some body itching.
- I then dress him up and give his morning medication and eye drops
- After this I lead him downstairs where he have his prayers while I prepare his breakfast based on his diet and health preferences
- After breakfast I get him some coffee while I typically go to the store to fetch some stuff or do some letter posting or other task before his lunch time.
- We typically watch TV while I assist him with any tasks or activities like going to toilet etc
- I installed an indoor bell and place a tagged around his neck so he can ring at anytime for me to attend to his needs.
- I take him for his appointments and more out door activity that he desires
This is just a brief of my last role but everyday with my client was different and and I enjoyed every single day.
In general, I take pride in my extensive training and qualifications. My skills and expertise include personal grooming, hygiene, toileting, cooking, and cleaning, as well as providing companionship, emotional support, and respite care.
My decision to become a carer stems from a deep desire to help others, and my background in healthcare as a nursing assistant. I am experienced in anxiety and depression care and have developed excellent communication skills that allow me to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, exploring nature, and listening to music. I am also a member of my local church and volunteer to help run children's activities. Being a carer has given me the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives, and I am passionate about providing the highest standard of care to those who need it the most.
I hope that this personal statement gives you a sense of my experience and passion for the care industry. I am committed to providing compassionate, reliable and high-quality care to my clients, and I look forward to the opportunity to contribute my skills and experience to your care needs.
