Support is there to alleviate any concerns and to allow yourself and your family to concentrate on other things. I am passionate about what I do and I am a firm believer in maintaining and promoting my clients’ independence, dignity and privacy, in a person - centred approach to care and support. I strive to provide a balanced, comfortable and relaxed environment. I have over ten years experience working within the Adult Social Care sector. I have gained considerable experience in both practical and theoretical settings. I have worked within a range of environments and in a number of roles, including: Care Homes, Nursing Homes, a Residential Dementia Care Home where I was a Night Shift Senior, a Community Domiciliary Caregiver and the Deputy Branch Manager for an East Sussex branch of a national Home Care provider. My role as a live-in carer afforded me the opportunity to support a number of clients with a variety of support-needs, including personal care, medication administration, meal preparation etc. I have supported clients who have Parkinson’s Disease, who are living with Dementia as well as those needing Palliative Care. Although I was born in South Africa, I have lived in the United Kingdom for many years and have become accustomed to the healthcare system. I have been fortunate enough to have lived in Spain and Germany and worked in Luxembourg for a high-end fashion and jewellery House. Having left South Africa, I entered the Insolvency Industry, working for a top five accounting firm in London. However, I realised that I was most fulfilled in my career when it was care-based . I enjoy travelling, experiencing different cultures and learning different languages. I also like cross stitching, reading historical novels, as well as true crime and crime fiction. Relaxing walks and outdoor activities are also of interest to me. I am compassionate, caring and intuitive to others’ needs. I have a good sense of humour and believe in making the most out of life.
