I come from a long line of carers/nurses, s...More Hi my name is Nikki I’m 52 years old and have worked within the care sector for the last 30+ years ranging within different sectors from mental health, dementia, children’s care services and palliative care which is what Im currently doing at the moment. I come from a long line of carers/nurses, so seem to have had that very caring nature since I was a young girl, and always remember wanting to help people when I grew up. I love meeting new people and learning about their lives some of which have amazing stories to tell. I have a good ear and can even just be there to listen if that’s all that’s required. I love to look after people to help them remain in their own homes whilst promoting as much independence as possible so they don’t have to be moved into residential care homes as this can have a huge impact on people and their lives as well as their health, especially the elderly and those who have the onset of dementia it can be very confusing, so to keep them in familiar surroundings so they can relax and enjoy what time they have is definitely a plus. I’m also happy to help with rest-bite care if the family members feel they need some help and timeout. I have a range of interests from baking, cooking, going to the cinema, walking my dogs there’s nothing better than being out in the fresh air. I also like to enjoy lunch out from time to time. I have had all my Covid injections up to date. I’m unavailable to take on any other jobs until mid September. Thank you for reading my introduction and i will try to help out where I can.
